Best Traits in Hogwarts Legacy, Ranked

Best S Tier Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

Concentration

Concentration significantly increases the damage of all Damage spells. For most players, Concentration is the best trait in Hogwarts Legacy, as it makes all offensive spells more powerful, no matter which build is selected.

Herbology

Herbology increases damage by all plants. As you may have noticed, plants are potent weapons in Hogwarts Legacy. Some would say they're borderline overpowered, so investing in Herbology can be a good choice.

Unforgivable

Unforgivable greatly increases damage dealt to cursed enemies. As it's relatively easy to curse targets using Dark Arts and Unforgivable Curses, this trait offers even more damage bonuses than Concentration.

Best A Tier Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

Ambush

Ambush significantly boosts spell damage while concealed by Disillusionment Charm. This a great way to get the upper hand in combat, especially if you're a fan of the stealth build in Hogwarts Legacy.

Laceration

Laceration greatly increases damage with Diffindo. Although you'll be improving just one spell with this trait, its damage is so overwhelming that the investment more than pays off.

Fangs

Fangs greatly increased Chinese Chomping Cabbages' damage. This trait is very powerful if combined with Fertiliser to grow them faster and Herbology trait. Those piranha-like cabbages are deadly for almost all enemies.

Best B Tier Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

Ancient Magic Focus

Ancient Magic Focus increases the Ancient Magic Meter fill rate. Having it filled is very useful as it enables your spells to be even more powerful. That's especially important when you face stronger enemies and bosses.

Deafening

Defeaning increases damage with a Mandrake. Those plants are very helpful in combat, but only if you combine Defeaning with Herbology.

Protego Shielding

Protego Shielding decreases damage taken from Dark Wizards in Hogwarts Legacy. Although you won't use it often, it can be handy for certain quests when facing these foes.

Best C Tier Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

Explosive

The Explosive trait improves damage with the Bombarda spell. It can be helpful in certain situations, but there are more effective ways to beat enemies, making this trait less special.

Manipulation

Manipulation significantly increases the damage of enemies under the Imperio spell. It can create exciting combat situations where your mind-controlled opponents demolish other enemies.

Scorching

The Scorching trait increases damage with the Incendio spell. While this is useful, you'll have more options if you invest in the Concentration trait that increases the damage of all attacks, including Incendio.

Best D Tier Traits in Hogwarts Legacy

Cruelty

The Cruelty trait increases damage with the Crucio spell. This sounds good on paper, but there are better trait options in the game, so avoid this trait and focus on more useful ones.

Cushioning

The Cushioning trait decreases damage received from Trolls. While they tend to be dangerous, focusing on more effective ways to defeat them is better than trying to soften their blows.

Disarming

The Disarming trait in Hogwarts Legacy significantly increases damage with the Expelliarmus spell. You don't need to invest in wand/weapons disarming techniques that deal more damage. Simply destroy them as fast as you can! And that's why Disarming is at the bottom of our best traits in Hogwarts Legacy tier list.
