How to solve Hall of Herodiana puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy

Trickier than it first appears!

Hogwarts Legacy has no shortage of puzzles, collectables, and content to find. One of the side quests you can take on to unlock even more puzzles and outfits is The Hall of Herodiana, a quest to solve some puzzles that a Depulso master left behind. If you solve these puzzles you'll receive a special piece of cosmetic headwear, cloak, and robe. You'll even get the chance to show or taunt the quest giver with these unique items of clothing. Here is how to make it all the way through the Hall of Herodiana and compete the quest.

You will only be able to unlock the Hall of Herodiana by first accepting the side quest from Sophronia Franklin. She'll be standing in the sitting room nearby the Charms Classroom. After she has tasked you with the quest, you'll find this peculiar object on the wall near the bottom of the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower, pictured above. It's similar to the object you need to cast Depulso on above the map wall.

Before you start Herodiana's Puzzles, you should know a few things. First, while she was a Depulso master, you will also need to frequently use Accio to manipulate blocks. Be careful when you do use Accio. If you pull a block on top of yourself you will reset the puzzle and return to the puzzle room's entrance. There will also be turning cubes on a golden stand in each puzzle room. Striking these cubes with a basic cast will reset the puzzle, without moving your player character, and you will need to take advantage of this later on.

Once you've entered the Hall of Herodiana, proceed to the first puzzle room. You'll see a large golden block in front of you. Cast Depulso to push the block toward the door at the end of the room, then jump and climb on top of the block, then up to the door to to solve the first puzzle. While this one is simple, the next two are not quite as easy.

How to find the extra chest in Herodiana's first puzzle room

There are extra chests in each of Herodiana's puzzle rooms. The first one can be obtained by pushing the block to the left, instead of forward, then pushing the block towards the back of the room. Climb up the block, then into the alcove in the back right corner to find the chest.

While there are two blocks in the room, to solve this puzzle you'll only need to manipulate the smaller block above you. Use Depulso to push the small block toward the door, then use Accio to pull the block to the right hand side of the room, you'll now be able to climb on top of the blocks and jump towards the small block and across the gap to reach the door.

How to find the extra chest in Herodiana's second puzzle room

There is a second chest in this room to loot but it will require a bit of manipulation to get. Start by solving the puzzle, but instead of climbing across, push the small block into the far corner, then pull it into the two blocks on the left as shown below. Next, pull the block back towards the back of the room to put it in its final place.

The second larger block will need to be moved as well. Since it is on the ground floor, use Accio carefully and do not stand directly in front of it when you pull! Pull the large block to the left side, across the room, then push it toward the back. You'll then want to pull it toward the right side of the room, then push it back, again. Finally, pull the block back to the left hand side of the room to make a staircase of sorts as shown below. You can climb up the blocks to the treasure chest resting in the alcove.

How to solve Herodiana's third puzzle

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

To solve Herodiana's third puzzle, start by carefully pulling the large golden block to the right hand side wall, then pushing it toward the cube in the golden stand. Then, climb up the stone blocks on the left hand side of the room and pull the golden block toward you to create a bridge. Walk across the golden block to the next set of stone blocks, then use a basic cast on the cube to reset the puzzle. You should still be standing on the far stone blocks as shown above.

To finish the puzzle, use Accio to pull the block toward the door, pull it again to the left hand wall, then towards you one final time to create a stairway toward the door.

How to reach the extra chest in Herodiana's third puzzle room

For one last final chest, do this before you solve the puzzle and walk through the final door. Instead of pulling the block to the right hand wall, push the block toward the door. Then carefully aim and push it into the back right corner of the room. Next you'll want to use Accio to pull the block toward the cube in the stand, then pull it again toward you, so that the block is positioned as shown below.

From here, you'll need to pull the block toward you one last time, than either push or pull it to the left hand wall, to create a stair case that leads to the chest.
