The Corrupt Rot God is the game's most prolonged boss battle, so there's quite a bit to remember. Be sure to check out our guide on this boss and its five phases below:

  • Phase One
    • The Corrupt Rot God is a lumbering giant, meaning he isn’t the fastest.
    • Take advantage of a slow start by targeting the glowing masses on his body. These will take several shots to rupture, so fire off a few arrows at full charge.
    • Once the Corrupt Rot God is close, be careful. The boss uses several melee attacks once’s he’s near Kena.
      • Corrupt Rot God gets up on his hind legs before slamming the ground. This slam sends out a shockwave, so be prepared to jump when he comes crashing down.
      • The boss also uses a swipe attack that can grab Kena. Roll out of the way when the Corrupt Rot God winds up his left hand at close range.
    • The Corrupt Rot God does have one ranged attack to look out for. The monster will use a slash at a distance that causes ice to erupt from the ground in a straight line. Be prepared to roll out of the way when you see him winding up a paw from farther away. Keep targeting the glowing masses and destroying them in between attacks until the boss initiates phase two.
  • Phase Two
    • The Corrupt Rot God teleports Kena to a room with a spirit door inside, but she has to clear two waves of enemies to unlock it. Take out the enemies, minding their attacks, as any damage inflicted upon Kena here will follow her back to the boss battle. Once the mobs are eliminated, take the spirit door to head to the next room.
    • The second room will have tougher enemies, including a mini-boss.
    • Target the smaller enemies and dispose of them quickly.
    • Target the crystals on the mini-boss to deal substantial damage.
    • The mini-boss occasionally tosses his weapon at Kena, be ready to shield when he winds up an attack. Use the dash attack after shielding to get close and stun the mini-boss.
    • Once he’s beaten, grab the Rot that appear by attacking the bubble that appears once all enemies are gone.
    • Use the Rot to clear the corruption and open the gate to the next phase of the boss.
  • Phase Three
    • Kena returns to the Corrupt Rot God boss encounter. The boss has a laster blast that he shoots from his mouth periodically. Jump over the blasts or shield to avoid taking damage.
    • Use the Rot heal if necessary and take out the remaining glowing masses on the Corrupt Rot Got.
    • After Kena takes out the rest of the glowing masses, the next phase will begin.

  • Phase Four
    • Kena gets blasted into another area where she must platform her way forward to confront the boss once more.
    • Use the bow to platform around the map by targeting the glowing flowers and catapult them to the top of the area.
    • Bomb the glowing platforms to move forward and find the rest of Kena’s Rot allies. Free them and head through the door to confront the boss one last time.
  • Phase Five
    • The Corrupt Rot God calls minions to the main area for his final phase. Target them for Rot energy as Kena needs this charge to defeat the boss.
    • Watch out for the Rot God’s shockwave attack, as it will send out blasts across the stage.
    • Kena’s target is the swords on the Corrupt Rot God’s back, but they’re only vulnerable while the boss is charging his attacks. Wait for them to glow and send Rot to each blade to remove them individually.
    • Once Kena’s removed all of the blades, the Corrupt Rot God finally falls, ending the game and her journey as a spirit guide.
