How to Feed Creatures in Lightyear Frontier

Items for food, a good deal.

The first step in domesticating a wild creature is giving it food, and that works in video games, too. To make some animal friends, it's good to know how to feed creatures in Lightyear Frontier.

To feed the creature, you have to give it a Basic Fodder by pressing Action near it. You can make a Basic Fodder in a Fodder Oven, which is one of the first constructions in the game. When you feed a creature, it will drop random resources, even Aluminum Bars. Now, here's what you need to do to feed a creature.

Fodder Oven is one of the simpler structures to craft, right after the Oil Presser. It can make Fodder items you can use to feed the creatures. To craft a Fodder Oven, you need the following resources:

  • 2x Plant Oil
  • 3x Stone
  • 5x Wood

Plant Oil is the only resource that needs crafting, and you can do it in the Oil Presser using five Plant Fibers. Once you craft a Fodder Oven, you can create some Basic Fodders.

Basic Fodder is a simple plant food item for creatures you can craft in Fodder Oven. To make one Basic Fodder you need a Plant Oil and a Plant Fiber. Unlike Oil Presser, you don't have to wait for the Fodders to craft; the Fodder Oven will make them immediately. Just walk over to them to pick them up and head to The Meadows to feed some creatures.

The Meadows aren't very rich with creatures you could feed; there are only Swiftplumes, colorful birds that freeze when they see you, regardless of whether you're inside Mech or not. That moment when they stand up and don't move is when you feed them. Just approach them and press the Action button, and you'll give a Basic Fodder to a Swiftplume. After you feed it, a Swiftplume will always give you a random resource. The majority of the time, it will be a Plant Fiber, but I also got Polyberry Seeds and even Aluminum Bars from them.
