At some point in your campaign, you must upgrade your tools using different materials to progress in the game. So, here is a quick guide on how to upgrade all tools in Lightyear Frontier and the resources required for each item.

How to upgrade tools in Lightyear Frontier

To upgrade your tools like Spike Saw or even your Mech in Lightyear Frontier, you would require an Upgrade Depot. You can easily craft one using the following materials.

  • x24 Stone 
  • x4 Aluminum Frame
  • x4 Aluminum Rod

After constructing an Upgrade Depot, you can park your mech in the Depot and access the various upgrades available for each of your tools that require multiple materials.

Vacuum Harvester Upgrades

Vacuum Harvester Range I

  • Description: Increases the pulling range of your Vaccum Harvester.
  • Materials: x3 Red Lens.

Vacuum Harvester Power I

  • Description: Increases the suction power of the Vaccum Harvester.
  • Materials: x5 Copper Wire and x9 Caroot Oil.

Vacuum Harvester Power II

  • Description: A scaled-up version of Vaccum Harvester Power I
  • Materials: x2 Blue Lens, x2 Steel Electronics, and x2 Battery.

Vacuum Harvester Width I

  • Description: This increases the Vacuum Harvester's capacity to pull items from a wide area, allowing you to draw more materials simultaneously.
  • Materials: x1 Iron Frame and x1 Zappertwig Oil.

Vacuum Harvester Width II

  • Description: A scaled-up version of Vaccum Harvester Width I.
  • Materials: x1 Steel Frame and x9 Wax.

Spike Saw Upgrades

Spike Saw Power I

  • Description: Increases the cutting capacity of your Saw by increasing its power.
  • Materials: x5 Aluminium.

Spike Saw Power II

  • Description: A better version of Spike Saw Power I.
  • Materials: x5 Aluminium Electronics and x18 Caroot Oil.

Spike Saw Power III

  • Description: A better version of Spike Saw Power II.
  • Materials: x5 Iron Parts and x2 Iron Electronics.

Spike Saw Damage I

  • Description: Increases Spike Saw's sturdy, allowing it to cut through items with fewer hits.
  • Materials: x3 Aluminium Rod, x5 Rabbage Oil, and x1 Power Core.

Spike Saw Damage II

  • Description: A better version of Spike Saw Damage I.
  • Materials: x3 Iron Bar, x5 Chromaize Oil, and x1 Power Core.

Spike Saw Damage III

  • Description: A better version of Spike Saw Damage II.
  • Materials: x3 Fractalite Bar, x5 Lumbloom Oil, and x1 Power Core.

Irrigation Hose Upgrades

Hydro Splash I

  • Description: Your Irrigation Hose will shoot big blobs of liquid on multiple mounts simultaneously.
  • Materials: x5 Aluminium Parts.

Hydro Splash II

  • Description: Better version of Hydro Splash I.
  • Materials: x6 Blue Crystal Dust and x5 Iron Parts.

Hydro Splash III

  • Description: Better version of Hydro Splash II.
  • Materials: x6 Yellow Crystal Dust and x5 Steel Parts.

Irrigation Hose Range I

  • Description: Increases the Irrigation range of your Hose.
  • Materials: x3 Red Lens.

Irrigation Hose Power I

  • Description: The Hose can remove much stronger slimes and dirt.
  • Materials: x10 Red Crystal and x9 Rabbage Oil.

Irrigation Hose Power II

  • Description: Better upgrade to the Irrigation Hose Power II.
  • Materials: x5 Iron Parts and x2 Red Lens.

Seed Shooter Upgrades

Seed Shooter Lock On I

  • Description: You can automatically lock on and shoot mounds.
  • Materials: x5 Aluminum Rods and x5 Plant Oil.

Seed Shooter Lock On II

  • Description: A better version of Seed Shooter Lock On I.
  • Materials: x2 Clear Lens, x2 Aluminum Electronics, and x1 Power Core.

Seed Shooter Lock On III

  • Description: A better version of Seed Shooter Lock On II.
  • Materials: x2 Blue Lens, x2 Iron Electronics, and x1 Power Core.

Seed Shooter Lock On IV

  • Description: A better version of Seed Shooter Lock On II.
  • Materials: x2 Yellow Lens, x2 Steel Electronics, and x1 Power Core.

Inventory Capacity I

  • Description: Increases the Inventory Capacity of your Mech.
  • Materials: x5 Aluminium Electronics.

Inventory Capacity II

  • Description: A better version of Inventory Capacity I
  • Materials: x5 Battery.

Inventory Capacity III

  • Description: A better version of Inventory Capacity I
  • Materials: x5 Fractalite Bar and x5 Battery.

Sprint Speed I

  • Description: Increase the overall mobility speed of your Mech.
  • Materials: x5 Copper Wire and x35 Carrot Oil. 

Sprint Speed II

  • Description: An upgraded version of Sprint Speed I.
  • Materials: x5 Sprint and x35 Cailvine Oil. 

Water Tank Capacity I

  • Description: Your Mech can store more water than before.
  • Materials: x18 Polyberry Oil.

Water Tank Capacity II

  • Description: A better version of Water Tank Capacity I.
  • Materials: x6 Blue Crystal and x3 Zapertwig Oil.

Water Tank Capacity III

  • Description: An enhanced version of Water Tank Capacity II.
  • Materials: x6 Yellow Crystal and x3 Honeybottle Oil.
