In Lost Ark, you are able to send out crew members from your Stronghold on different missions at the Dispatch Station. While you are looking through the different missions in both the Normal Missions and Special Missions list, you'll see that there are different Specializations that your crew can adapt to for a better reward outcome. The different Specializations are listed below:
- Great Hardship - Thorn
- Great Hardship - Earthquake
- Great Hardship - Poison
- Great Hardship - Petrification
- Hardship - Wind
- Hardship - Darkness
- Hardship - Flame
- Hardship - Ice

What are Specializations in Lost Ark?
Specializations are different skills that your crew members have according to a series of different elements. When you are selecting the crew you'd like for both a Normal Mission and Special Mission, you can see exactly which of these Specializations each crew member has.
Then, you can pair up the crew member and increase your Adaptation for the mission. On some missions, you'll get more Specializations needed to reach the Adaptation cap. This differs with every mission, but higher is always better. When able, always select the best crew.
