All Jobs (Classes) in Miitopia, Explained

Can't decide what job to give your Mii?

Miitopia plays exactly like your typical RPG, from its turn-based battles to its jobs or classes. It can be quite tough to decide which of the latter to assign your characters to, especially since jobs are locked until you reach the last phase of the game.

Furthermore, your character’s levels are tied to their job. This means that once you switch your hero from Warrior to Mage later on, their level is reset to one. You won’t lose the levels you’ve gained as a Warrior, though it can be tedious to grind levels in a new job. As such, it’s always best to assign the right job the first time.

To help you choose the best jobs in Miitopia, here’s a quick summary of all their best points.

1. Warrior

While there’s an actual Tank in the game, the true tank is the Warrior. Their HP is higher than the Tank’s and their DEF is at around the same level. Plus, Warriors have the highest base ATK among all the jobs in Miitopia. They mostly have solo target skills (some deal double damage), though they do get AoE ones later on.

2. Mage

Mages are the best damage dealers in the game, and it won’t matter if it’s against a single or multiple targets. They have deadly skills against both. A Mage’s MAG stat is the highest among all the jobs in Miitopia, and they’re some of the fastest characters in the game.

3. Cleric

A Cleric’s main role is to mega heal one character at a time. But later on, they can do nifty light spells and a heal that restores some HP to your entire party. Few jobs are faster than the Cleric (like the Cat). They also have the only revive skill that doesn’t need luck to trigger.

4. Thief

Thieves pride themselves on two things: speed and (self) defense. They have skills that allow them to disappear from the line to attack at a later turn and set traps that prevent enemies from touching them. Plus, they can steal bananas and candies. A thief’s normal attack and most of their skills do AoE damage.

5. Pop Star

Pop Stars have great utility both in and out of battle. They can give characters another turn, regen the party’s HP/MP, sometimes revive an ally, distract an enemy, and, most importantly, end quarrels. A Pop Star’s normal attack does AoE damage.

6. Chef

Chefs are slow but they’re the best healers in the game, boasting both solo and party-wide heal skills that regen a big amount of HP. If an ally eats a banana, they will sometimes boost its effects. Chefs get single target and AoE attack skills that deal substantial damage later on.

7. Cat

Cats are the fastest characters in Miitopia. They’re independent heroes, buffing their own ATKs and healing their own HPs. They can steal food too, which is helpful if you’re grinding stats. Cats are single damage dealers with the third highest ATK in the game.

8. Imp

Imps are mainly support characters, debuffing the enemies’ DEF and snapping characters out of status effects. They have a unique skill that lets another character perform a normal attack in lieu of their turn. They also have a powerful AoE MAG skill and an instant death spell at higher levels.

9. Scientist

Scientists double as a damage dealer and a support character. They can perform single target heals, cure and protect allies from status effects, as well as automatically restore an ally’s HP when they take damage if you’re lucky. Scientists will sometimes turn an ally’s normal, single target attack into an AoE move.

10. Tank

Contrary to their name, a Tank’s purpose is to deal as much damage as possible rather than protect their allies. In fact, many of their skills—while deadly—can cause a lot of quarrels. Tanks do have one defensive skill, but it’s for themselves. After the Warrior, they have the highest ATK stat.

11. Princess

Princesses are good against large mobs because of all their abilities that can distract them from attacking. They can also protect allies from status effects. The Princess’ offensive skills are mostly single target and MAG-related. Next to the Mage and Scientist, their MAG stat is the third highest.

12. Flower

The Flower is your jack-of-all-trades. They can heal, sometimes revive allies, cure status ailments, deal single-hit MAG damage, and turn an ally “Wild.” A Wild character’s actions can’t be controlled, but they get a double turn. Their normal attack does AoE damage, though their ATK stat itself isn’t very impressive.

13. Vampire

Miitopia’s first hidden class. It's unlocked by accomplishing a midgame quest from the Traveller's Hub. Vampires are useless low-levelled, but if you’re willing to sit through the grind, you get access to the one job that can cast auto-revive. A Vampire’s normal attack does AoE damage, and they have the highest base HP in the game.

14. Elf

Miitopia’s second hidden class. It’s unlocked by defeating the Replica Dark Load on the eastern part of Galados Isle post-endgame. Elves are the ultimate support character—and one that can deal great AoE damage due to their high MAG stat. They can heal your entire party, put up a permanent shield that decreases damage received, and sometimes block attacks meant for an ally.

Pro tip: An ideal party needs to at least have one dedicated healer and damage dealer. Multi-hit normal attackers like the Thief and Pop Star are preferable against mobs, while single-hit damage dealers like the Warrior and Cat are best pit against World Bosses.
