  • One Nether Wart
  • One Pufferfish
  • One Water Bottle
  • One Brewingstand

To get a nether wart, the first material required for the potion water breathing, you will need to explore the nether. More specifically, Nether fortresses, as inside these forts, you will find small little farms of warts growing.

After the wart, you will then need to gather one pufferfish, you can do this by using a fishing rod in a body of water. If you manage to reel the rod in, you can get a pufferfish this way.

We also recommend enchanting the rod with lure to further increase your chances of getting the fish.

Once you got that done, you will need to move on to making a water bottle. You can do this with three pieces of glass blocks placed in the same pattern as an iron bucket. After that, you will then need to fill it full of water by right-clicking a water source.

Next, you will need to make the brewing stand to mix all of your materials up. To make a brewing stand in Minecraft, you will need the following materials listed below placed in the pattern inside a crafting table shown below.

  • One Blaze rod - You get these from killing blazes in the nether. You will also need to turn them into blaze powder to power the brewing stand.
  • Three Cobblestone

When the brewing stand is crafted and placed, you can craft a potion of water breathing by placing blaze powder first in the stand.

After that, place the water bottle in the left slot and then the nether wart in the middle top slot. Wait for the nether wart to process, and then place the pufferfish in the same spot, and after it cooks, you will have made a potion of water breathing in Minecraft.

But if you want to turn this water breathing potion from three minutes to an eight-minute potion, simply place Redstone in the top slot above the water breathing potion inside the brewing stand.
