Can you change servers in New World? The answer is yes, you can. However, there are some factors that you should consider firsthand. To change servers in New World, follow the steps below:
- Launch New World.
- Press Continue in the bottom right corner of the menu.
- On the left side of the screen, look for create new character.
- Select the server region of your preference from the drop-down menu. You can also select the world and world set from there.
- Proceed with the steps and hit I understand.
- This will take you to character creation after a brief cinematic which you can skip, of course.
Update: Due to the queuing issues to get into New World, Amazon is allowing players to relocate to a new server sometime in the next two weeks. This means you can start a new character, progress, and then be able to change to a server where your friends are, and play the game together.
New World Servers - Everything to Know
Servers in New World are called worlds. There are numerous servers hosted across five regions i.e., US West, US East, Central Europe, South America and Australia. Amazon Games Studio plans on expanding its servers and regions over time, which includes South-East Asia servers.
The worlds are further grouped into various world sets in the game such as Zeta, Nu and Ultra world sets.
- You cannot transfer your character from one world to another. You have to create a new character altogether for that.
- One server can host only one of your characters.
- You can have only one character in a particular world set.
- Playing with friends is only possible if you share the same server as them.
- If you want to create a new character for the existing world set, your current character needs to be deleted.
