Nintendo Directs usually come with surprise announcements. During today's presentation, Nintendo fans were shocked to see that Nintendo would be bringing back an industry titan from the Wii era. The Wii Sports franchise has been reborn as Nintendo Switch Sports, with a planned release for Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Nintendo Switch Sports releases at $39.99 for the Nintendo Switch on Apr. 28, 2022. Sports like Volleyball, Bowling, and Tennis all make a return in this iteration, with new content scheduled to release later. Nintendo Switch Sports will also receive a physical release with a peripheral for one of the game's new modes, Soccer. Players can also sign up for an Online Play Test that will run from Feb. 18 to Feb. 20 by visiting sports.nintendo.com and following the instructions provided.
