The Flamechurch area in the Crestlands contains the Pilgrim Protection side quest in Octopath Traveler 2. Speak to the Elder outside the church in this area to start the quest. He will request that someone place candles along the path to the cathedral, meaning you need to find three candles. This may leave you wondering how to get the Sacred Flame Candles in Octopath Traveler 2.

Where to get the three Sacred Flame Candles in Octopath Traveler 2

There are three Clerics scattered in the Flamechurch and Flamechurch: Cathedral areas. These NPCs carry the Sacred Flame Candles, but you must use Path Actions to steal, buy, entice, or mug the candles from them. This means you need Throné, Osvald, Agnea, or Partitio. Here is where to find all three NPCs and Sacred Flame Candles in Octopath Traveler 2.

Sacred Flame Candle 1

• Day: Flamechurch: Outside church, by the door
• Night: Flamechurch: Inside Church

Sacred Flame Candle 2

• Day: Flamechurch: Outside church, lower walkway
• Night: Flamechurch: Inside Church

Sacred Flame Candle 3

• Day: Flamechurch Cathedral: Outside Cathedral, by the south entrance
• Night: Flamechurch Cathedral: Inside Cathedral, by the altar

After gathering all three Sacred Flame Candles, return to the Elder who gave you the Pilgrim Protection quest. Turn in the candles, and he will reward you with the following.

• 5,000 Leaves
• 1x Fortifying Nut
• 1x Tough Nut
