Everything to know about the Overwatch 2 Beta

What is the Overwatch 2 Beta?

The Overwatch 2 Beta is the second beta test for the game, and it will be playable on both PC and Consoles. It will not feature any of the solo missions teased for the final game and will instead focus solely on PvP. You will be able to try out a new hero, Junker Queen, as well as a new map. The familiar maps and game modes from the first game and first beta test are also returning.

Since this is a work-in-progress Beta build of the final game, there will not be any competitive mode, profiles, or endorsements. Lastly, your progress made in this Beta will not carry over to the final game.

How long does the Overwatch 2 PvP Beta run for?

The Overwatch 2 Beta will begin on June 28, 2022, and be extended to selected players who signed up for the test. Sign-ups begin on June 16 as part of the Overwatch 2 reveal event. The test end date has not yet been confirmed, but if the first beta gives us any hints, we imagine it will potentially run for three to four weeks. Once we get a confirmed end date, we will update this article with that information.

The Beta will contain many maps and all of the characters from the original game. However, there are quite a few new features coming to Overwatch 2 that you can try out in the Beta:

  • New Heros
    • Sojourn
    • Junker Queen
  • New Maps
  • Push Game Mode
  • Multiple reworks and changes to existing heroes

Lastly, Blizzard has stated that there will be more Overwatch 2 Beta tests in the future, so if you cannot get into this one, don't fret. You will still have a chance to try the game before it releases. We will continue providing updates and guides for Overwatch 2 up until its release.
