Tips for Beginners in Palworld

Palworld is a fun game, but it can get confusing, especially if you've just started playing. Check out these tips for beginners in Palworld, so you'll know what to do and where to go.

Set up your base at an optimal location

First, you'll want to place your base somewhere where you can farm for all necessary materials. You'll need a lot of wood and stone throughout the game. You'll need to farm Ore as well for a lot of recipes

Set up your Palbox so that it encircles the materials you want to farm. This way, your Pals can get to work, and it's not just you hacking away. One of the best locations for your first base is behind the Desolate Church at 63, -419. This location has a lot of ore and trees to cut down.

Collect a Lot of Pals

Every Pal in the Paldeck has an EXP bonus for the first ten Pals of its sort you catch. This is the best way to level up quickly and get technology points. You'll use these points to buy schematics for base upgrades.

If you have a lot of unwanted Pals, you can sell them to the Black Marketeer. Or, if you're feeling especially gruesome, you can butcher them for materials. In any case, a lot of pals means a lot of benefits for you.

Once you reach Level 14 in Technology and have enough Ancient Technology points, you can also get the Pal Essence Condenser. This device combines same-type Pals into a better higher-ranking one.

Get a Mount

A mount Pal should definitely be at the top of your list of tasks at the beginning of the game. With such a huge map, you won't make it anywhere fast in Palworld just on foot.

You can choose between a flying mount, a ground mount, and a swimmer mount. The best mounts to get early in the game are Eykthyrdeer if you want to run and Nitewing if you want to fly. You can find both in the areas between the Desolate Church and Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance.

Open up Fast Travel Points

Wherever you set up, you'll want to be able to travel fast between locations to look for Pals, treasure chests, eggs, and Effigies for the Statue of Power. Unlock as many Fast Points as possible in the beginning so that you can explore new areas.

The best Fast Points to unlock are:

  • Grassy Behemot Hills (167, - 475)
  • Desolate Church (65, -418)
  • Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance (114,-423)
  • Small Settlement (74, -486)

Get a Lifmunk, Pengullet, or Foxparks

It will take you quite a bit of leveling before you can get actual guns. However, that doesn't mean your Pals can't have them. When you catch Pengullet, Lifmonk, and a Foxparks, you will also reveal their Technology abilities.

Pengullet can be used as Rocket launcher ammo, while Lifmunk destroys your enemies with a Submachine gun. Foxparks can be used as a flamethrower and is very useful against Grass type Pals like Mammorest. You can find Pengullet in the Grassy Behemoth Hills, while Lifmunk is further away around the Rayne Syndicate Tower Entrance Fast Point.
