Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest entry in the popular Pokémon franchise, offering players a different take on the monster-catching franchise. Instead of battling to become the very best trainer in the Hisui region, researchers aim to create the first functioning Pokédex by studying a wide variety of Pokémon in their natural habitat. Players will still have to battle wild Pokémon on their adventure, and a new set of mechanics exist in the Legends battle system for players to master.
While Pokémon battles are still turn-based in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Action Orders dictate how many attacks a combatant receives before the next Pokémon is up.
Players can find the Action Order interface in the top-right corner of the screen during a Pokémon battle. We've shared an image below for reference.
The Action Order shows trainers who will attack when, but Pokémon can alter the Action Order with moves from different styles. Agile Style moves are a weaker variant that deals reduced damage (-25% damage) and that allows Pokémon to attack multiple times in rapid succession.
Strong Style moves are more devastating attacks (+25% damage) but slow the Pokémon down afterward, lowering the number of actions it can perform immediately after. Users can swap attack styles by pressing the L and R buttons when hovering over an attack. How trainers use these moves in battle may sway the result, so experiment with the move styles as often as possible.
