Pokémon Legends: Arceus offers a unique experience for long-time Pokémon fans, allowing them to explore the vast Hisui region and create the world's first PokéDex. One familiar Pokémon that players will encounter in the Hisui region is Piplup. The Water-type starter has a specific habitat in this open-world game, and those interested in adding the Pokémon to their party will have to seek it out.
Piplup's Location
Players can find Piplup in the following area:
- Cobalt Coastlands: Piplup lurks on the Spring Path in the Cobalt Coastlands.
- Piplup's evolution, Prinplup, can also be found on the Spring Path.
- An Alpha Empoleon, the final evolution for Piplup, can be found on the Islespy Shore. Alphas can only be caught after battle.
How to Catch Piplup
Players can catch Piplup with Pokéballs when traversing through the Cobalt Coastlands, and the Great Ball is an excellent option for those aiming to grab this Pokémon. Players can battle Piplup for a higher capture chance, so make sure you've got a Grass-type in your party to counteract this water-type Pokémon if that's your aim. Piplup is skittish, so it may try to run before and during battle, so the easiest way to grab it is by catching it off guard in the open world.
Piplup's Evolution
Piplup evolves at predetermined levels in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Once Piplup has hit the following levels, be sure to head into your bag menu to trigger its evolutions manually.
Conditions:
- Piplup evolves into Prinplup at level 16
- Prinplup evolves into Empoleon at level 36
