Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the newest entry to the long-running Pokémon franchise. This mainline game lets players explore an open-world teeming with wild Pokémon to catch, catalog, and battle. Fan-favorites like the Gen IV starter, Turtwig, return in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but knowing where to find these grass-type Pokémon is critical.
Turtwig's Location
You can find Turtwig in the following location:
- Crimson Mirelands: Turtwig resides in the Droning Meadow region of the Crimson Mirelands.
- Turtwig's evolution, Grotle, can also be found in the Droning Meadow.
- An alpha variant of Turtwig's final evolution, Torterra, is located in the Holm of Trials region of the Crimson Mirelands.

How to catch Turtwig
Players can secure a Turtwig by snagging it with Pokéballs, and we found standard Pokéballs and Great Balls to be most effective, especially in the early game. You can also battle Turtwig to lower its health and increase your chances of a successful capture. If possible, bring a Fire-type Pokémon along with you to mitigate any Grass-type attack damage.
Turtwig's Evolution
Turtwig evolves at certain levels in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Once Turtwig reaches the following levels, be sure to visit your bag menu and initiate the evolutions manually by selecting them from your menu.
Conditions:
- Turtwig evolves into Grotle at level 18
- Grotle evolves into Torterra at level 32
