How to get Malicious Armor in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Suit up.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet continue the tradition of keeping some certain items and Pokémon exclusive to one version or the other. In Pokémon Violet, you can trade with an NPC in Zapapico for a unique item, the Malicious Armor, that will allow you to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge. Here is where to find the NPC and how to obtain it.

The NPC you are looking for can be found almost directly in the center of Zapapico. Refer to the map above for the exact location. In exchange for the Malicious Armor, the NPC will ask you to trade her 10 Sinistea Chips. Sinistea Chips are crafting material drops found by battling Sinistea.

Sinistea is a rarer Pokémon to find, but it can be conveniently found nearby Zapapico. They are very tiny, and they float. You have to keep a careful eye out to spot them. In the screenshot above you can see that we found it nearby the yellow trucks. If you have a Pokémon strong enough, using Let's Go mode will be more efficient at farming Sinistea Chips.

If you have Pokémon Scarlet, not all hope is lost. You can trade either the Malicious Armor or the Auspicious Armor with a friend easily. Have any Pokémon other than Charcadet hold the armor, and trade that Pokémon to send the armor into the opposite version.
