How to use Maxwell Trier – Triangle Strategy Unit Guide

The loyal hero of Glenbrook.

Units in Triangle Strategy are built differently. Each of them have unique skills, terrain advantages, and a variety of uses, depending on the situation. Some units work better with others. Others are great for farming coin or items but shouldn’t be taken to main stage battles.

In this guide, we’ll teach you how to use Ser Maxwell, more known by his alias, the Dawnspear.

Ser Maxwell is a lot like Roland (for obvious, spear-related reasons), but he functions closer to Serenoa. Both have high evasion stats and the Counter Stance passive. Counter Stance lets Ser Maxwell deal a counterattack when he's attacked. His evasion lets him evade them.

The difference between him and Serenoa lies in mobility and attack range, the latter because he uses a spear. Additionally, Ser Maxwell will get a skill called Traverse later on, which lets him tile hop and take another turn. It’s good for positioning him behind an enemy or getting close to an enemy he can deal a follow-up attack to.

While Ser Maxwell may not have Serenoa’s slightly high attack and defenses, he does get an auto-Revive passive at Elite rank. As its name implies, he can resurrect himself once per battle, allowing you to make riskier maneuvers with him when given the opportunity.

Class promotions and weapon upgrades

At some point, you’ll want to complete Ser Maxwell’s entire upgrade map, but do invest in weapon potency, defenses, and HP first. You want him to deal decent damage and survive. At Weapon Rank two, you should unlock the upgrade that decreases the cost of Triple Thrust.

Promote him to Elite rank as soon as you can for Revive and the stat boosts.

Take advantage of Maxwell’s impressive evasion stat by giving him evasion accessories, as well. You can place a strength or HP accessory in the second slot.
