Best characters to use in Triangle Strategy

They're all A- to S-tier in some manner, but some units stand above the rest.

Every unit in Triangle Strategy is unique. For example, while both Frederica and Corentin are mages, the former is offensive-focused while the latter is better for support roles. There’s arguably a role for all of them depending on the terrain, type of enemies present, and even weather conditions, making everyone useful in some way.

However, some of them are simply more useful than others. Here are our personal picks for best units in Triangle Strategy (in no particular order).

Serenoa Wolffort

We’re not just saying this because he’s the main character. Serenoa is one of—if not the best—offensive unit in the game. Serenoa has high strength, high evasion, and an even higher luck stat. He learns a passive skill that lets him counter physical attacks. By boosting his critical and evasion stats, he’s near-invincible.

Maxwell

Ser Maxwell's kit is very similar to Serenoa's, where he evades attacks and counters them. He may not have Serenoa's high-crit stat, but the fun part about Maxwell lies in his added mobility with Traverse. This skill allows him to tile hop and take another turn. It's very good for setting up follow-up attacks.

Did we mention that he's also the only character to have an auto-revive passive? It can only proc once per battle, but it'll allow you to more comfortably make risker maneuvers.

Benedict Pascal

As long as you have a steady stream of turn points (TPs), Benedict’s Now…! and Twofold Turn skills are unbeatable. Now…! lets an ally immediately move after him, while Twofold Turn lets an ally act twice on their next turn. He can also buff attacks, defenses, and movement, though items let you do the same.

Erador Ballentine

In a map with a lot of nearby enemies, Erador can provoke everyone who is two tiles away or nearer. With high HP and a higher physical defense, he’ll tank every hit (except magic attacks). Provoke can be upgraded to only cost one TP later on, so Erador can keep doing this to infinity.

He also gets three amazing passives that support this strategy. One lets him take less damage at below-50% HP, the second decreases damage taken from back attacks, and the last one counters physical attacks. By doing absolutely nothing but surviving, Erador can deal damage while keeping everyone safe.

Anna Pascal

Anna is fast and can hide herself from enemies. However, her real talent lies in her Act Twice passive skill. By moving her to a tile opposite an enemy who is adjacent to one of your more powerful allies, she can deal two follow-up attacks in succession. And since she’s fast, she can do this a lot.

Julio Wrightman

Units can have all the best skills in the game, but they’re useless if they don’t have enough TPs to use them. That’s where Julio comes in. His entire kit is dedicated to passing TPs and generating them. He can even give Benedict the ability to use Now…! four to five turns in a row. If you place Julio beside mages, he can also continuously supply them with TPs to use for spells.

Medina Alliam

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Medina is arguably the best support character in the game, provided that you're well-stocked on items. For example, her passive ensures that every recovery item she uses has an increased effect. Long Toss’ increased item range ensures she can act like every other healer… except for the fact that she can heal twice, thanks to her Double Items skill. And that she’s faster than them. And that she has an upgraded movement of six.

But that’s not all. As long as you have Swift Spices in your bag, Medina can emulate Benedict’s Now…! for one less TP. Speaking of TPs, she later on gets a passive that grants one TP to every ally she throws an item to. If you throw a Ranged Recovery Pellet (which lets up to five allies recover HP) twice, it’s infinite skills all day.

Archibald Genoe

If there are cliffs in the map, Archibald is your man. He has low movement but an insanely high attack range that he can strike an enemy on the far-end of the map if he’s positioned high enough. Plus, the further away the enemy is, the more damage he deals.

Cordelia Glenbrook

Cordelia may not be the best healer (that’s still Medina), but she's your lady if you want heals without needing to waste items. Cordelia heals big and far. They cost more TPs than Geela’s but her passive lets her gain an extra TP as long as she doesn’t move from the tile she’s on.

Quahaug

With Warped Space, Quahaug can get allies up and down heights quicker than Jens (the guy who can create ladders) can. He's very useful in farming on the Abandoned Village maps, where all the spoils and treasure chests are located. Turn Back Time is useful as a psudo-heal, as it can revert a unit's HP back to what it was in the previous turn.

Quahaug also has a unique skill that can stop time for everyone on the map but him for two turns. It's useful for staving off status effects and positioning him closer to allies that need his help. You can also use the extra turns to throw items!

Avlora

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Avlora is a one-woman army—a heavy-hitting unit with an equally impressive HP, defense, and evasion stat. She's so sturdy that there's never any rush to heal her. Plus, the lower her HP is, the more damage she deals. With an accessory like the Black Anklet, which lowers HP every turn for a power boost, she's nigh unstoppable.

Honorary mentions

  • Roland Glenbrook: Not only can he move everywhere, he can also attack multiple enemies at once. Roland even gets a skill that allows him to attack five tiles in front of him later on. He's just less bulky than Serenoa and doesn't have his evasive advantage.
  • Hughette Bucklar: Two words: Shadowstitching Shadow. It prevents the enemy from moving for up to three turns (with an upgrade). Our only complaint is that she’s paper-weak.
  • Ezana Q'linka: The most powerful mage in the game. Ezana even has a skill called Rite of Thunderstorms, which inflicts lightning damage on every unit on the map (and a chance to paralyze them). She would have made the list, except for the fact that Rite of Thunderstorms is a late-game upgrade. She's not a good unit to use early on.
  • Jens Macher: As mentioned, Jens can create ladders to help your allies move around maps with high platforms. He can also set traps, which can fling an enemy back. He would have made our main list, actually, but he's slow and his utility is highly dependent on the map.
