Resident Evil Shadows of Rose Animal Painting Gallery Puzzle Solution

Of Prey and Predators would be a pretty cool book name.

Eventually, players will stumble across a strange Animal painting puzzle as they make their way through the castle in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose DLC. When players find the Animal painting puzzle, they must rearrange the paintings in a particular order. However, before players can even solve the puzzle, they must find a missing sixth painting. Here's where you can find both the missing Animal painting and the solve the Animal painting puzzle:

How to solve the Animal Painting Puzzle in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

Solving the Resident Evil Animal Painting requires you to place all paintings in a certain order. The order in which you must put all paintings is by prey and predators. Three paintings depicting prey animals must be on one side and predators on the other. However, all paintings must also be across from their respective predator/prey. That said, place the painting in the following order visualized below.

Where to place Prey Animal Paintings in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

In total, there are three paintings depicting prey animals: Butterfly, Frog, and Sheep/Goat. If you want to solve the Animal Painting puzzle, place the paintings in the following order listed below:

  • Butterfly
  • Frog
  • Sheep

Where to place Predator Animal Paintings in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

Just like the prey paintings, there are also three predator paintings: Fox, Snake, and Spider. Also, similar to the prey paintings, you must arrange them in a certain order. Place the predator paintings in the following order listed below:

  • Spider
  • Snake
  • Fox

When placing all paintings, ensure each is across from their respective predator/prey. Here's the order to make sure each painting is in:

  • Butterfly/Spider
  • Frog/Snake
  • Sheep/Fox

However, you won't be able to complete this puzzle until you find the Snake painting. In short, the Snake painting is the painting missing from the room where you first find the Animal puzzle. Luckily, you won't need to go far to find the missing Snake Painting.

Where to find the Snake Animal Painting in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose

To find the Snake Animal Painting in Resident Evil Shadows of Rose, you must solve the Rose statute puzzle and progress until you find the Silver mask. After finding the Silver mask, keep progressing until you find yourself in the room below. Inside this room, you can find the missing Snake animal painting past the doors marked below:

After placing all paintings in the correct order, a locked cage will open, allowing you to pick up a Triocular key. You will need the Triocular key to later get the Golden Mask required in solving the Puryifing Crystal puzzle.
