There are tons of unique ways to play Rune Factory 5. The game leans into both its farming sim roots and RPG elements by creating unique areas for you to do your farming. This even includes the ability to grow crops on the back of sizeable dragons that you meet while exploring.
Farm Dragons are friendly monsters that you meet as you progress through the games. They can be accessed by interacting with the rope next to your garden and give you space to grow crops and keep monsters. There are five Farm Dragons in all, and you will get the Earth Dragon right after defeating the first boss.

How do Farm Dragons work in Rune Factory 5?
Farm Dragons work just like regular farmland, with one major difference: you can feed Farm Dragon's crystals to help with production. There are five different crystal types to choose from, and they will do things like increase the quality of the soil and make it rain on the Farm Dragon's back.
Keep in mind that the effect of a crystal won't last forever, and you will need to keep giving your Dragon crystals.
