Saints Row is an upcoming action shooter scheduled for release on Aug. 23, 2022. The title was originally planned for Feb. 2022, but was delayed. Now, the Game Awards is giving a dive into the gameplay of Saints Row.
The gameplay trailer shows off the three different gangs, the Marshall, the Los Panteros, and the Idols. A ton of vehicle gameplay is shown off, ranging from racing dirt carts, flying on hoverboards, riding in tanks, and more. Like classic Saints Row games, the combat looks over-the-top with lots of different ways to play.
Developer Volition has shared that the reboot focuses more on the balance between ridiculousness and serious gameplay than the later titles in the franchise. The Saints Row reboot takes place in a fictional southwest town called Santo Ileso and players will work to take control of the city by recruiting members to their own gang. The title supports co-op gameplay with both characters able to take on missions as created characters.
The gameplay trailer confirms the unique art style Saints Row will have as well as some of the new mechanics that players will experience in the new title.
Saints Row is releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, expected to be exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
