The long-awaited horror game Scorn finally has a release date, and fans couldn't be happier. The news comes by way of an announcement on the official Scorn Twitter account after over a year of no substantial development updates.

Scorn has had countless delays and was initially scheduled for release in 2017. It has already amassed a huge following from its many trailers and teasers, despite having its last gameplay demonstration in October of 2020.

Described as a layered, atmospheric horror game in first person, fans of the genre are welcoming of the game's thematic tones and graphical prowess. The game has a fleshy texture to its environments and weapons, giving it an uncomfortable feeling even when there is no urgency.

A new trailer dropped alongside the delay, which shows little of the game in comparison to its other trailers. It shows an altar of some kind, and the surrounding statues of pregnant women with glowing red bellies may be an area of the game that players might have to come back to. It could also symbolize how many stories/chapters the title has.

The gameplay is set to be very open, with lots of exploration, puzzles, and combat. Like most survival horror titles, ammo will be scarce, and players will have to manage their limited inventory to the best of their ability.
