Complete guide to Turnip Boy Robs a Bank

As stated above, Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is a roguelite, which means you will need upgrades, weapons, and items to continue through the content—with these, you can get a little bit further into the bank each time.

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

First, you need to complete the opening sequence and the tutorial, but these are pretty straightforward. Next, you will be dropped into the bank, where Stinky will try to call the police. In each round, you will have three minutes to grab as much stuff as you can, then get back to the truck and head back to the main base.

In order to get started, you will need to interact with the truck. This will start the bank robbing section of the game, giving you three minutes (or more with upgrades) to swipe as much money from the bank as possible. Your money bag starts off with a maximum of $1,000. There are several different objects and events that will earn you money, sellable items, weapons, and wearables. Money is the most important thing to grab; you'll want to fill your bag as much as possible every time you head into the bank.

Objects that you pick up, like the bronze and silver vases and kazoos you find in cases, Stink statues that you have broken down and picked up pieces of, wallets and cell phones of those you have shaken down, will be sold and added to your total income on top of the money in your bag. If you die, you lose all weapons you have picked up, all sellable objects, and half your money.

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The point is to defeat enemies, steal money, and get out before the timer runs out. If the timer does run out, enemies will spawn in increasing numbers, indicated by the stars in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Every enemy you kill drops money and has a chance to drop different weapons that can be turned into Twin #1 to fill the bar of the weapon unlock Blueprint Station.

Another thing to be found in the bank: boss battles. There are several doors locked by keycards that can be obtained in boss battles. Each card is numbered and has a different color. As you unlock each of the doors, it will get faster to get to later parts of the map where new bosses and higher-paying objects can be found.

Door Types

Some high-paying objects can also be hidden behind elevators, where the elevators lead is randomized each time you return to the bank. There are several different types of elevators, and you can tell which one you are walking into by the picture on the outside of the door.

Here are all the different types of doors you can come across and where each of them leads:

  • Plain gray elevator door: These lead to the office spaces where Old Lady Lime, Ravioli, and safes can be found. There is basically one layout, and there are always two safes to be broken into it. To break into safes, you need to have purchased the laser pointer.
  • Gray elevator door with golden trim: The golden-trimmed doors always lead to the office rooms with lasers and vaults. In order to get into the vaults, you will need to have purchased C4. You can also find several NPCs needed for side quests in these layouts.
  • Elevator door decorated with mounds of dirt: Leads to Pie, who wants you to collect eight pet rocks for the side quest Rocks, Rocks and more Rocks.
  • Skull door surrounded by green goop: This goes to the Shroominati Shadows, the location of the mushroom cultists.
  • A bonfire with a sword in the middle: A weapons dealer that deals in souls. Needed for the side quest Sell Your Soul.
  • Bath bubbles and a rubber duck: This leads to a locker room where you will unlock the weapons locker where you can store weapons. It leads to a locker room filled with lockers that sometimes hold money or special weapons.
  • Bloody pentagram: Leads into Crancran's gladiatorial battles. She sends three rounds of enemies to kill, and then rewards you with a mess of weapons and money.
  • Melty Fox Face: This door leads to the Lab Lab, where a dog from another dimension will ask you to take down an optional boss.

All Turnip Boy Robs a Bank boss battles

There are a grand total of six boss battles in Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, and you get rewarded for each one. Below, you can find hints to defeating each boss, what the reward you get for defeating them, and where they are located. These boss battles will be in the order of appearance.

Yeehaw boss

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Yeehaw is the first boss you will see in Turnip Boy Robs a Bank. He is located through the door of the northwesternmost part of Fancy Foyer. You'll have to get by both the Stinky statues blocking the way and the enemies in the hallway leading to this door. Yeehaw will be in the middle of the room; just hit him to start the battle. When you win, you will get the first keycard for doors with the number 1 on them. He has a homing missile attack when he's on his chair, and he has a gun that can rapidly fire in your direction, but he is slow to turn it.

Candy Apple

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

The Rotten Candy Apple is the second boss. It spawns a whole bunch of gummy worm enemies, and it also has a lot of attacks. It can do a burst attack after locking on, a slam attack where it hits the ground and shoots out projectiles in a circle, and can shoot candy corn missiles at you. Dodge them by tripping (you might want to upgrade it before taking Candy on). You can only deal damage to it when it is on the ground after a slam.

Mecha Chad

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Mecha Chad is all about distracting you with videos of people making soap and slime in the upper and bottom portions of the screen. He will attack on the ground with bombs, a big gun that he drops when he dies, and he does a spinning laser attack that you have to stay ahead of when he's on his seat.

Uncle Rigsby

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

This boss has a few different attacks; during its first phase, it can spit out poison in a circle. It also spits missiles at you and spawns a whole bunch of adds. During its 3rd phase, one of its hands walks around and tries to squish you. Be careful of the adds, missiles, splats, and hands altogether in the final phase; it can get overwhelming.

Super Fox (optional)

Screenshot by Pro Game Guides

Near the end of the game, you can find an elevator door that has a melty fox face on it. Inside is a dog that wants you to take down a Super Fox for the side quest called Science Never Sleeps. This Super Fox is an optional boss—you can battle as many times as you like for some cool weapons. He's the hardest boss in the game; the fox has a handgun and will shoot you down. He also spawns a lot of adds, so keep an eye out for those.

Completing the endgame and picking up the last hat

Once you have completed all the side quests, in order to 100% Turnip Boy Robs a Bank, you will need to do two things: complete the final stage and also check your email. In order to finish the game after confronting Stinky in the Mysterious Motherload, you will need to purchase the rockets on the Dark Web. After you have them, head back into the bank and take down all four bosses again; interact with the center of the boss rooms to plant the rockets.

Once the rockets have taken off, the map will change again. Avoiding enemies as best you can, travel back to each of the four boss rooms once more to shut down the rockets. This will start the ending sequence. After it is all over, make sure to start the game up again and check your email on your phone. Open all your messages, taking all the hats out of the emails. This should trigger the last achievement or trophy.
