Where to find Fine Wood in Valheim

You can find and get Fine Wood in Valheim by chopping down Birch and Oak trees in the Meadows biome. To chop both types of trees, you need at least a Bronze axe or higher. In short, you can't chop down either Birch or Oak trees with Stone axes that you start with. It's thankfully not that hard to make a Bronze axe once you unlock Bronze crafting in Valheim. After unlocking Bronze, you can make a Bronze axe using the materials listed below inside a Forge.

  • How to make a Bronze Axe - To make a Bronze axe in Valheim, you need four wood, eight Bronze, and two Leather Scraps.

Other ways to get Fine Wood in Valheim

Other than chopping certain trees down, there are quite a few different ways you can get Fine Wood in Valheim. To start, you can get Fine Wood from harvesting shipwrecks that sometimes spawn off the coast of both the Meadows and Black Forest biomes. Along with this, you can also lure trolls to smashing the Birch and Oak trees down for you.

You can also chop Beech trees down and get them to fall on Birch and Oak trees, but this method is the least reliable. Once you get Fine Wood through whatever process, we recommend putting it in a separate chest from your Core Wood and Ancient Wood so that you can keep track of it.
