Is Hogwarts Legacy on Game Pass?

With the rise of subscription services, many may be wondering if Hogwarts Legacy, a hotly anticipated title, will be coming to any of those services. Game Pass, a gaming subscription service from Microsoft that is available on both PC and Xbox consoles, has one of the largest catalogs available, and it will occasionally add newly released titles. We're here to let you know if Hogwarts Legacy will be one of them.

Is Hogwarts Legacy coming to Game Pass at launch?

It is not. Hogwarts Legacy will not be available on any subscription service at launch, requiring you to purchase the game outright. It will have a staggered release window on multiple platforms, with the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions releasing on February 10. You also have the option to purchase a deluxe edition of Hogwarts Legacy on these consoles, which will give you access to a 72-hour Early Access Period starting on February 7. Barring any further delays, Hogwarts Legacy will be made available on PS4 and Xbox One on April 4 and the Nintendo Switch on July 25. The deluxe editions of these versions will not have an Early Access Period associated with them.

Will Hogwarts Legacy eventually come to Xbox Game Pass?

Potentially, but we would not expect to see it arrive for quite some time. Some large, highly anticipated, and well-received games eventually make it onto the service. Persona 5 Royal is a good example of this. To give you perspective, however, Persona 5 Royal was originally released on October 19, 2019, and was not available as a part of Game Pass until almost three years later. If you want to play the game at some point this year, we'd recommend planning to purchase the game on your console of choice.
