Brotato Weapon Tier List

Knife throwing never looked so wild.

Brotato is a great game to play when you're bored and looking for something that will keep your attention. You start with one weapon, chosen from a small list, and can upgrade that weapon and gain more weapons as you beat each wave of enemies. See our Brotato weapon tier list below to find the perfect weapons for your 'tato.

Best weapons in Brotato - Tier list

There are 51 weapons in Brotato for players to choose from as they play through the various waves. Though you'll start with a weaker weapon - like a pistol or a plank - you won't be stuck with it. The challenge is surviving each wave long enough to upgrade!

S-tier weapons in Brotato

S-tier weapons are the best ones in Brotato. Provided you've gotten to grips with the game, any S-tier weapon should be able to help you move through each Wave without too much health loss. If you see any S-tier weapon after a Wave, I highly recommend picking them up to grow your power.

My favourite S-tier weapon is the Fist. It's available right at the start of your game, even if you haven't unlocked any of the later Brotatoes. Pick the Brawler, pick the Fist weapon, and just start wailing on your enemies. Fists are also pretty common in my experience, so you'll be able to level yours up quickly instead of relying on luck to grab another one after a Wave ends.

Another good choice is the Double Barrel Shotgun, which has beautiful damage potential.

A-tier weapons in Brotato

A-tier weapons aren't quite as amazing as S-tier weapons are, but they're guaranteed to get you through the Waves (as long as you've played enough to create your own playstyle and strategy). If you come across any A-tier Weapons, grab them to bulk up your Brotato's inventory as you continue searching for better ones.

Although the Knife is a starter weapon that you can pick up even before you unlock any extra Brotatoes, it's an excellent choice of weapon for beginners. The Knife is a ranged weapon, which can help you keep your distance during a Wave. This is especially important if you're running out of health and don't have much time left on the clock. Having upgraded knives helped me get through several Waves in Brotato.

B-tier weapons in Brotato

B-tier weapons are the middleground of this tier list. They're not great, but they're not awful. These are decent weapons that can help you out of a few sticky situations. They usually have good effects, decent range, and come with a few funky stats that will help you combat your enemies. Beginners will be able to find a fair number of these weapons before starting a run or early on after completing a few Waves. Be sure to pick a Brotato that suits these more specialist weapons - the Ranger or Brawler would be perfect for these.

The Crossbow is an excellent example of a B-tier Brotato weapon. It has a large range for a base weapon, a short cooldown, and an effect that can help you take out your enemies quicker - the Crossbow pierces once on a critical hit, and has a 30% chance of a critical hit. It's one of the best weapons for you to start with as a Ranger Brotato.

C-tier weapons in Brotato

C-tier weapons are bad, but not terrible. They need to be judged on a case-by-case basis throughout your run so that you can figure out whether or not they'll be of any use to you. These weapons can be helpful in certain situations, but I wouldn't hold onto them for your entire run. When you get the chance, replace your C-tier weapons with B-tier or above.

A lot of players may disagree with the placement of the Obliterator, but power isn't everything. I've seen other people rank this particular hard-hitting weapon in D-tier, but I don't think it's quite that useless. The issue with the Obliterator is that it isn't as accessible as some weapons in higher tiers. It's a reward that players get for finishing a run at the highest level, unlocking the Demon Brotato, and then doing another run with that Brotato. It does have one of the highest damage counts in the game, but the effort to get to it puts it further down on my tier list.

The Laser Gun is a better option from the weapons in this tier, if only because players can access it right from the start of a game.

D-tier weapons in Brotato

These are the pointless weapons. If you can avoid them, do. Don't choose them at the start of a Wave run, and don't pick them up. From my experience, you're more likely to die earlier on during your run with D-tier weapons because their balance is awful.

The Thief Dagger, for example, has a damage of 6 in its base form and a 20% chance of a critial hit. On paper, this is better than the Lightning Shiv, with a damage of 3 and a 5% chance of a critical hit. However, the Lightning Shiv has an effect that bounces a lightning projectile between your enemies, while the Thief Dagger does... nothing. Well, you may gain a single material when killing an enemy, but that's still nothing.
