To fight this Greater Lost, you'll have to find him in the area of the Dried-up Trenches. Just like the first boss in Code Vein, Oliver Collins, the Insatiable Despot is very strong. And just like Oliver, there are two phases of the fight. We'll go into that a bit later, but first, let's focus on Despot's special attacks.

Special attacks of the third boss in Code Vein

If you really want to know how to defeat Insatiable Despot in Code Vein, you’ll have to know everything about his powers. Be prepared for attacks such as:

  • Summoning crystal—make sure to destroy it as soon as possible, as it summons the enemy.
  • Leap attack—as big as he's, he can really jump!
  • Spin attack—he spins around, which is a good opportunity for a counterattack! If you dodge in time, you can do significant damage to him from behind.
  • Combo attack—Despot deals four powerful hits in succession.
  • Ichor rift—a homing attack.
  • Charged attack—be careful, he can run very fast if he wants to.

As you can see, he has a whole range of attacks that will put your skills to the test. So be sure to select the Code Vein hero build that’s best suited for this boss fight. Despot has a low Blood resistance (-30%), so focus on this type of elemental damage.

How to defeat Insatiable Despot first phase

The fight against the third boss in Code Vein has two phases. In the first phase, Despot will attack with two knives. He'll use the attacks mentioned above, and the best way to counter them is to stay in front of him and be ready to counterattack. Timing is everything, so be prepared to dodge forward as soon as you see an opportunity.

In most cases you will find yourself behind him, attacking his legs. If you prefer ranged attacks, keep him at a distance, but be ready to destroy the crystal quickly when Despot summons it. When his health drops below 50%, get ready for the second phase of the battle.

Phase two of the third boss battle in Code Vein

Despot 2.0 is a tougher opponent, as he now wields a spear. While he focuses on crafting his new weapon, you can use the time to heal and buff yourself. The main difference between the improved and vanilla Despot is his spear, which gives him greater range. Watch out for an Ichor rift attack, because it can cause a lot of damage. The best way to avoid it is to wait until the rift is near and then dodge forward. This is also a good opportunity to attack Despot. You guessed it, go for the legs! If your reflexes are good, you'll quickly dispatch this gentleman.
