- The Hand Demon's tough hide makes him hard to hurt, meaning the player will have to shave away his health slowly. Poke in intermittently with special attacks and light combos to deal damage, dashing away when he attempts to swipe the ground with an area of effect attack.
- Be aware of the large red ring beneath the Hand Demon, as it indicates a wide-range attack. Stay back until this attack ends.
- Keep an eye out for the Hand Demon's ranged attack, a rock toss that hurls boulders at Tanjiro.
- After each attack, the boss will need a moment to recover, and that's your moment to attack.
- As the Hand Demon's health dwindles, he'll start to become more aggressive and charge toward Tanjiro with several short-range punches. Dodge as often as you can and try to stay behind the Hand Demon and attack him.
- The Hand Demon's red ring attack will also gain a few extra swipes towards the end of this encounter, so wait longer than earlier before charging in.
- If you find yourself too close to the Hand Demon, be sure to block his attacks, as guarding severely decreases damage taken by Tanjiro.
- Once the Hand Demon's health bar is depleted, the first encounter will end, and the first checkpoint will unlock.
