The Rogue has been blessed to have a wide assortment of leveling builds to use, and the leveling build I am about to present to you now is one of the best ones. If you're starting Diablo 4 as a Rogue and you're looking to level efficiently, take a load off, grab a snack, and get ready for the only guide you're gonna need.
Level 50 Rogue Build for Diablo 4
Playing the Rogue in Diablo 4 is all about mobility. Everything you do comes with the added bonus of being quick, meaning there's little need to stop and make you vulnerable to attacks. Thus, the build I recommend most for leveling is a build I like to call "Arcane Archer."
"Arcane Archer"' focuses mostly on using Imbuements to augment your attacks for different situations. You want to use Shadow Imbuement for dealing with large groups of enemies and Poison Imbuement for bosses. Additionally, you'll be using the Forceful Arrow Basic skill in conjunction with Penetrating Shot as your spender. The final two skills you'll want to use are Concealment and Dash. These two skills add much-needed utility and defense to your offense-heavy arsenal.
This build is extremely potent for leveling because of how efficient it is for dealing with AOE and Boss encounters from a distance. You're always safe, and you have a tool to deal with every situation you can be put in. Even the Butcher, should he surprise you in a dungeon run, becomes fodder for you due to the overall setup. The build is effective beyond 50, but once you reach that point, feel free to change into the Twisting Blades meta build for endgame content.

Passives explained
These passives give the most value per point while you're leveling.
- Weapon Mastery
- This passive provides significant damage bonuses to all Rogue weapons you use. When maxed:
- Bows deal 12% more to Vulnerable targets
- Crossbows deal 15% more Critical Strike Damage
- This passive provides significant damage bonuses to all Rogue weapons you use. When maxed:
- Agile
- This skill increases your Dodge chance by 12% for 3 seconds when maxed whenever you use a non-Basic or Core skill.
- Dash and Concealment will trigger this bonus. It provides a small boost in survivability.
- This skill increases your Dodge chance by 12% for 3 seconds when maxed whenever you use a non-Basic or Core skill.
- Mending Obscurity
- When in stealth, you heal for 9% of your Maximum Life every second at max level.
- This is a ridiculously strong sustainable tool that should absolutely be maxed, as percent-based healing means it scales up the more health you have. If you stay in stealth the entire time, you heal for 36% of your max health. Huge
- When in stealth, you heal for 9% of your Maximum Life every second at max level.
- Precision Imbuement
- Allows your Imbued skills to have a 9% increased Critical Strike chance at max rank. This gain is on top of any other bonuses, making this a must-have for the build.
- Innervation
- This passive gives you a 30% chance on a Lucky Hit to generate 8 Energy at the max rank. Penetrating Shot is a major Energy hog, so any gains you can get are a plus.
- Alchemist Fortune
- At max rank, provides all non-physical attacks a 15% increased Lucky Hit Chance. Since most of your big attacks will be coming from Imbued skills, this is a significant boost in damage and helps trigger other Lucky Hit-based effects.
- Adrenaline Rush
- Provides a flat 15% increase in Energy regeneration while moving. As mentioned earlier, Energy is already a bit of an issue with this build, so any extra amount you can squeeze out, you want it.
- Haste
- Provides 15% Movement Speed if above 50% Energy or 15% Attack Speed if below 50% Energy. For three points, you get a lot of bang for your buck.
- Precision
- This Key Passive causes you to gain 4% Critical Strike Damage every time you land a crit, stacking up to five times. Once you're at five stacks, your next Marksmen skill is guaranteed to be a Critical Strike with a whopping 40% Critical Strike Damage. This is stupidly strong, but you must be careful and pay attention to your stacks. You want to cast Penetrating Arrow when you have five stacks and not Forceful Arrow. Forceful Arrow deals little damage, but since it is a Marksmen skill, it can trigger the final strike. This is a huge loss in DPS, so avoid this when possible.

How to play the Arcane Archer Rogue Build in Diablo 4
This selection of skills and passives provides you with significant bonuses to critical strikes, especially ones that come from Poison-imbued skills. Almost everything relates, in some way, to Critical Strikes, so it is one of your most important stats as well. Mobility, Imbuement, and Critical Strikes are your friends with this build.
Build Rotations and Specialization
The Arcane Archer build builds upon itself as you gain Skill Points and levels. As such, allow me to break down your general rotation from the beginning all the way up till the build is completed.
- Level 1-2 - Puncture
- Use Puncture until you get to level 3 to get Penetrating Shot. Replace Puncture with Forceful Arrow as your Basic Skill.
- Level 3-8 - Penetrating Shot
- Engage with Forceful Arrow until the target is Vulnerable. Then cast Penetrating Shot to capitalize on the additional damage.
- Use Penetrating Shot solo for linear AOE as needed.
- Level 9-16 - Dash & Preparation
- Take Preparation Specialization at level 15
- Continue to use Forceful Arrow x3 into Penetrating Shot for damage until level 16 where you'll get Dash.
- Use Dash purely for additional mobility on top of your inherited Evade skill
- Level 17-23 - Concealment
- Use Concealment as an Escape and Buffer tool
- Take Countering Stealth
- New rotation
- Engage with Forceful Arrow x3 until the target is Vulnerable and you have three Combo Points. Cast Concealment. Cast Penetrating Shot from Concealment while the target is Vulnerable to capitalize on the additional damage.
- Use Concealment as an Escape and Buffer tool
- Level 24-33 - Shadow and Poison Imbuement
- Continue to use the above rotation until level 24 where you get Shadow Imbuement
- New Rotation (Area of Effect)
- Engage with Forceful Arrow x3 until the target is Vulnerable and you have three Combo Points. Cast Shadow Imbuement Cast Concealment. Cast Penetrating Shot from Concealment while the target is Vulnerable to capitalize on the additional damage.
- New Rotation (Area of Effect)
- Continue to use the above rotation until level 27 where you get Poison Imbuement
- New Rotation (Single Target)
- Engage with Forceful Arrow x3 until the target is Vulnerable and you have three Combo Points. Cast Poison Imbuement Cast Concealment. Cast Penetrating Shot from Concealment while the target is Vulnerable to capitalize on the additional damage.
- New Rotation (Single Target)
- Continue to use the above rotation until level 24 where you get Shadow Imbuement
This marks the end of the rotation. All other skill points are for improving your existing skills and gaining additional passives to improve effectiveness. Here is a specific breakdown of the build's entire rotation against AOE encounters and Single Target encounters:

How to level fast in Diablo 4 Season of Construct
Season of Construct is heavily focused on the Sensechal, a companion obtained through the completion of the early Season of Construct's main storyline. This companion is strong by default, but as you progress the season you'll be able to enhance the Sensechal Companion with Governing and Tuning Stones. These are key to improving the effectiveness of your seasonal companion, which will massively speed up your leveling speed.
Unlike the previous season in Diablo 4, there are no quests in Season 3 that are locked behind the completion of Seasonal Chapters. As such, story progress should go much smoother, and your leveling process will be faster than the norm.
Additionally, with the Tree of Whispers buffed up via additional experience a few patches ago, it is now a viable path for fast leveling in Season of Construct, along with the new seasonal content that is Elemental Vaults.
