Is Discord down? Here’s how to check server status

Is Discord down?

I feel like there's nothing worse than not being able to connect to my favorite Discord servers, and I am always wondering if it's just me and my internet connection or if the servers are down. Fortunately, checking the server status of Discord is easy, and in this guide, I will show you how.

Have Discord servers crashed? How to check Discord server status

Currently, Discord is experiencing a massive outage across all servers. The Discord staff is aware of an issue impacting the inability of users to connect to their servers across the board and is currently investigating the issue. You may be able to connect, but it's not guaranteed.

There is a very good website that will tell you if the Discord servers are working properly or have crashed. Downdetector is a handy website that keeps track of thousands of websites, applications, and even games and displays when they experience server issues. Such is the case with the popular communication app called Discord. So, head to the down detector site to see what it says regarding Discord.

Whenever Discord goes down, you will see a large display saying that Discord is experiencing issues. Along with this, you will also see comments from other users who will probably say the same thing.

Check Social Media

Another method for verifying Discord's server status would be to check social media. For instance, on Discord's official account, you will find the account tweeting and responding whenever there are server issues. Because of this, social media should be your next stop to verify any potential server issues.

That being said, if Discord is indeed down, then all you can do is wait for the Discord developers to fix the problems. It will take time, but Discord is usually reliable in fixing issues. In the meantime, we recommend using Steam's voice chat feature as a temporary alternative to talk with friends.
