Best items for movement in Fortnite

Master movement to get ahead of opponents in Fortnite!

In Fortnite, positioning and movement are equally important as aiming and shooting. The zone moves in regular intervals shortening the space for players to work with. Players need to position themselves in a favorable vantage spot, which is why movement becomes a deciding factor in the game. Several utility items can be used to rotate around the map, and understanding how these work will help players improve.

Combining in-game movement mechanics with these unique utility items will allow you to rotate across large map areas in seconds. They are highly effective during gunfights, as you can effectively push or retreat depending on the situation. Every season utility items are introduced or unvaulted to give players that extra jolt of mobility to stay ahead of their opponents. So, if you want to know more about these items, we have you covered. Here are some of the best movement items players can use in Fortnite.

Best movement items in Fortnite

Utility items are changed every season in Fortnite. New items are often introduced, and popular items from previous seasons are regularly unvaulted. Most of these items can be found as ground loot, while others are located at specific spots on the map. Here are the best utility items for movement in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.

Grapple Glove

The Grapple Glove is an Epic rarity item primarily designed for movement and rotations across the map in Fortnite. You can find this item in specific spots on the map in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3. Each Grapple Glove has 30 shots, and you cannot pick up two of these items at once. After finishing the 30 shots, players can replace it with a new Grappling Glove.

It is ideal to land at the spots where you can find Grapple Gloves, which allow players to swing off structures swiftly. Using the Grapple Glove, you can move from one spot to another within seconds. However, use it cautiously as you may need it to rotate away while getting pushed by opponents. Check the red circles on the map image above to see where you can get the Grapple Gloves this Season.

Shockwave Grenade

Shockwave Grenades are Epic rarity items and are highly effective for moving across the map. You can use these grenades to launch yourself toward an opponent to rush them. The Shockwave Grenades protect players from fall damage, which makes it one of the best rotational tools for high-octane combat. You can stack six of these grenades at once and use them wisely to have an advantage in fights. Players can find the Shockwave Grenade as ground loot, in chests, in Supply Drops, and from Llamas in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.

Nimbus Cloud

The Nimbus Cloud is found inside Capsule Corp Capsules, which fall from the sky regularly. You will also find the Kamehameha inside these Capsules. The Nimbus Cloud allows players to go airborne from any position and has a 20-second cooldown. This item doesn't run out, unlike the Grapple Glove, and you can also cancel the Nimbus Cloud mid-air to land at any spot without the risk of fall damage. While this item is extremely rare and sought after, it is ideally the best rotational and movement tool in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.

Impulse Grenade

The Impulse Grenade is a Rare utility item in Fortnite, and it functions almost similar to the Shockwave Grenade. Players can use this item to launch themselves, vehicles, animals, and other players in any direction. While you can technically use it on yourself, the Impulse Grenade does not give fall damage immunity, making it risky. We recommend using it on opponents to knock and displace them from their cover. You can also use this item to throw players off the height, so if an opponent is hiding in your builds, use the Impulse Grenade to blast them out.

Shadow Bomb

Shadow Bombs were unvaulted in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3, and these items effectively allow players to rotate across the map. Shadow Bombs can be found as ground loot, and this item makes you invisible temporarily for a short while. The trick to using Shadow Bombs is to use its double jump mechanic wisely. Sprint and double jump to get a massive momentum boost, and make sure to slide while landing to go further. Using the Shadow Bomb, you can cover large distances across the map by simply double jumping and sliding.

Rift To Go

The Rift to Go is an Epic utility item in Fortnite. It creates a portable Rift for players to get into and skydive. You can effectively make longer rotations with this item by gliding. You can carry two Rift To Go's at any time in your inventory, and they are found as ground loot, in chest spawns, in Supply Drops, and from Llamas. The only drawback is that the Rift created stays active for 10 seconds, allowing opponents to use it.

Ballers and Vehicles

Vehicles are exceedingly common in Fortnite, and now you can add various mods like the Chonkers Off Road Tires, or Cow Catchers to fortify the car. You will find these at different spots on the map and can quickly use them to rotate. Similarly, Ballers were added in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3, and although these are not utility items, they are great for rotation and moving around the map. Players can find and ride the Ballers at the Rave Cave POI this season.

Fishes

Fishes like the Crystal Zero Fish give a slight movement boost in Fortnite. It's infused with crystals from the Zero Point, making it easier for players to make quick movements across a shorter area. You can effectively consume the Crystal Zero Fish before heading into combat, and bamboozle the opponents with your movement skills.

Wolf and Boars

In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3, players can ride wild animals to move around the map. This feature has a significant change, as you can now shoot and heal while riding animals. Wildlife like Wolves and Boars are scattered all across the map, and you can ride them to rotate and move towards the zone quickly. Remember that your wildlife companion can be shot and eliminated, and you can feed them meat to regenerate their health.
