Fortnite is paying out.

The FTC has partnered with Epic Games, in which Epic Games will pay $245 million for settlements regarding in-game purchases. This money will be used as part of the settlement's refunds for affected players. This may leave you wondering if you are eligible for a refund and how to get the Fortnite Settlement Refund.

How to check if you are eligible for the Fortnite Settlement Refund

The FTC has published a list of criteria that will qualify Fortnite players and parents for the settlement. We have listed these below. Be aware this will only apply to those in the US. It also deals with the Battle Royale and not the Save the World mode.

  • Parents whose children made an unauthorized credit card purchase in the Epic Games Store between January 2017 and November 2018.
  • Fortnite players who were charged in-game currency (V-Bucks) for unwanted in-game items (such as cosmetics, llamas, or battle passes) between January 2017 and September 2022.
  • Fortnite players whose accounts were locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after disputing unauthorized charges with their credit card companies.

How to get the Fortnite Settlement Refund

Currently, you do not need to do anything to get the refund if you are eligible. The FTC will post updates on its website.
