Gaming (Ga-Ming, JiaMing) is an upcoming four-star Pyro claymore user coming in Genshin Impact's Version 4.4 update. He offers a fun DPS-focused kit that integrates traditional Chinese lion dances into his aesthetic.

If you're interested in playing Gaming upon release, here are some of my recommendations on how to build him based on his leaked kit. Keep in mind that his kit is still in the beta phase and is constantly changing, so his best-in-slot build may change upon release.

Best weapons for Gaming (Ga-Ming, JiaMing) in Genshin Impact

Gaming is an on-field DPS character who scales off ATK and requires the usual balance between Crit stats. Since his Elemental Skill has a unique HP drain mechanic, he will be reliant on healers, so weapons that offer DMG benefits from healing are also useful.

Some of my top picks for Gaming include:

• Beacon of the Reed Sea (best five-star stat stick) - This claymore offers an ATK increase when Gaming hits an opponent with his Elemental Skill or gets hit. To maximize its potential, make sure the team has no shielder.
• Mailed Flower (best free-to-play four-star) - This weapon offers an ATK and Elemental Mastery boost when Gaming uses his Elemental Skill or triggers Reactions. Since most of his DMG will come from his Elemental Skill, you can easily take advantage of its passive.
• Serpent Spine R5 (best paid four-star) - Offers a DMG boost the longer Gaming is on the field, which is useful given that his kit requires on-field time. However, it requires a high Refinement level to maximize, so it's limited to players who are willing to pay for the Battle Pass.
  • This weapon can only be obtained from the paid Battle Pass.

There are a few Artifact sets you can choose for Gaming, depending on what team you plan to use for him. If you're torn between Marechaussee Hunter and Vermillion Hereafter, I personally don't feel there's a huge difference in their viability. Pick whichever is easier for you to farm.

• Four-piece Marechaussee Hunter (versatile option) - Gaming's Elemental Skill and Burst can be linked to trigger the HP increase and decrease requirement for this Artifact set. As such, he can always get the Crit Rate increase from the passive bonus at every rotation.
  • This Artifact set can be farmed from the Denouement of Sin Domain in Fontaine.
• Crimson Witch of Flames (best for Reaction teams) - A DPS set that increases Pyro DMG and offers an additional DMG boost when triggering Overloaded, Burning, Burgeon, Vaporize, and Melt Reactions. Not recommended for a mono Pyro build.
  • This Artifact set can be farmed from the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula Domain in Liyue.
• Vermillion Hereafter (versatile option) - Offers a fixed ATK boost and additional ATK boosts by triggering the four-set passive. Gaming can easily trigger the passive requirement with his Elemental Skill and Burst rotations.
  • This Artifact set can be farmed from The Lost Valley Domain in The Chasm.

• Two-set combos - If you're having trouble farming or prefer straightforward stat boosts without worrying about triggering passive effects, consider a combination of any of the following two-set pieces.
  • Gladiator's Finale (+18% ATK)
  • Echoes of an Offering (+18% ATK)
  • Shimenawa's Reminiscence (+18% ATK)
  • Crimson Witch of Flames (+15% Pyro DMG Bonus)

Gaming's best Artifact substats

Here are some recommendations for Artifact substats for Gaming, who follows the traditional DPS route. For best performance, try to reach a 1:2 Crit ratio, which means that Crit DMG should ideally be double his Crit Rate.

• Sands: ATK
• Goblet: Pyro DMG
• Circlet: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
• Substats: Crit, ATK, ER, and EM

Consider following this order of priority when upgrading Gaming's Talents:

Gaming uses all three Talents well, so I recommend balancing your upgrades rather than driving full force into one and ignoring the others.

Best team for Gaming (Ga-Ming, JiaMing) in Genshin Impact

Gaming performs as a Pyro DPS unit and can work in a variety of team comps. Since he requires on-field time, try to pair him up with off-field units. Here are a few team recommendations, but remember that you can always swap units around based on who you have, as long as they offer a similar function.

• Xianyun - Gaming is best supported by Xianyun, who boosts the team's Plunging Attack and offers healing.
• Vape team - Gaming's consistent Pyro application allows him to maximize Vape Reaction DMG. Some teammate options include Furina, Bennett, and Kazuha.
• Melt team - If you like Cryo-focused teams, pair Gaming with a Cryo support, such as Layla or Rosaria, plus Furina and a buffer like Xianyun or Bennett.
• Burn/Burgeon team - Some great teammates include Nahida, Furina, and Kazuha.
• Mono Pyro - Great to pair with Lyney, Bennett, and another Pyro character of your choice (such as Xiangling). If using this team, make sure to choose weapons and Artifacts not dependent on Reactions.
