Genshin Impact Alhaitham Story Quest Domain walkthrough – Vultur Volans Chapter

The Genshin Impact Vulture Volans Chapter Act I - The Illusions of the Mob is Alhaitham's Story Quest, which focuses on investigating forbidden research surrounding collective consciousness. In the second segment, called Pride and Prejudice, you need to enter the Secret Cavern in Apam Woods, where the Hive is hidden deep within. Follow along to solve all the puzzles and collect all the Chests in the one-time Domain.

How to unlock Alhaitham's Story Quest in Genshin Impact

To unlock the Vulture Volans Chapter Act I - The Illusions of the Mob, you must first complete the Archon Quest Chapter III: Act V - Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises. Once that's done, head to the quest menu, then click on Story Quests on the bottom left of the screen. You must spend one Story Key to unlock Alhaitham's Chapter.

All Key puzzle solutions & Chest locations in the Genshin Impact Secret Cavern Domain – Alhaitham's Story Quest

While playing through Alhaitham's Story Quest, you'll be prompted to enter the Secret Cavern Domain in Apam Woods. Before entering, please prepare a battle-ready team as you will have to defeat some opponents inside. And once you're inside, plunge downward and follow the quest marker to initiate the first cutscene/dialogue.

Head into the heart of the research base

Once that's done, you'll be prompted to head to the heart of the research base. Start by following the quest marker to the next house up ahead. This will trigger a fragment of Ilyas' memory.

The game will introduce you to a Key puzzle. You need to interact with the glowing blue orb on the monument to obtain the Key, then interact with the red lock on the wall to insert it. Doing so will prompt the barrier to disappear, allowing you to proceed further inside.

The next part is a little tricky, as you need to go back and forth between Keys. First, pick up the Key and insert it in the lock on the left to remove the left side of the barrier.

Enter from the left, then turn right to loot a Common Chest. You can't retrieve this after exiting the Domain, so make sure to loot it immediately.

Next, turn left to find another Key. Pick it up but don't place it in the lock beside it. Instead, turn right (toward the location of the previous Common Chest) and place the Key in the lock beside the half-barrier.

Both sides of the barrier should now be dispersed. From the outside, your game should look like the image above. You need to interact with the Key on the lock outside (circled above) to remove it. This will force the barrier to form again.

This time, enter from the right side, then remove the Key we previously placed. The barrier will form again. You should be holding two Keys at this point.

Next, turn left and place the Key on the lock, which will force the barrier to disappear. There will be another lock up ahead—do the same and place the second Key to disperse the barrier.

There's a small enemy encampment up ahead. Defeat them to unlock the Exquisite Chest. Don't forget to loot it, as you won't be able to do so anymore after exiting the Domain. Once done, follow the quest marker and keep going up ahead until you find a bright area with a platform waiting for you.

Interact with the platform to begin moving. It will stop once in a while to prompt some dialogue but simply interact with it again to continue moving. Once you reach your destination (with a house in front of you), move forward by a few steps to prompt another fragment of Ilyas' memory to play.

In this segment, you need to use Four-Leaf Sigils to navigate. Hook to the first Four-Leaf Sigil up ahead and interact with the monument to get the first Key. Then hook to the next Four-Leaf Sigil nearby to pick up the second Key. You should have two Keys hovering around you at this point.

Hook to the Four-Leaf Sigil by the barrier, where you'll find the first lock on the left. Place the Key in the lock to disperse the barrier. You still have one Key with you at this point.

Next, you must follow these steps in the exact order:

1. Place the Key in lock #2.
2. Remove the Key from lock #1.
3. Remove the Key from lock #2.

By following these steps, the barrier will form again, but you will be inside and can proceed onward. You should also have two Keys hovering around you again, as these are needed to disperse the upcoming barriers.

Continue deeper into the cave. Place one Key in the lock to disperse the barrier. Then climb the steps and place the second Key onto the second lock to disperse another barrier. Keep moving forward to trigger another fragment of Ilyas' memory.

Once it's done, follow the quest marker to the clearing where Ilyas is waiting for you. You'll engage in a long dialogue between him, Alhaitham, and Siraj.

Defeat opponents

This segment is straightforward. Siraj will summon a few waves of enemies—mostly Slimes, fungi, and a weaker Jadeplume Terrorshroom. Simply defeat all of them to proceed. Don't forget that you can use Alhaitham as a trial character. Once the battle is over, a long dialogue and a cinematic cutscene will ensue. Complete them all to likewise complete the Domain. Don't forget to loot the Precious Chest before exiting.

You'll be able to proceed with Alhaitham's Story Quest. As a bonus, don't forget to enter the library in his house after the quest ends to experience the additional dialogue between Alhaitham and Kaveh.
