Batman fans will be thrilled to know they can enjoy Gotham City even more, as Gotham Knights will receive standalone DLC in the form of Heroic Assault. This will be a 4-player co-op mode separate from the main story and free-to-play.
The official Gotham Knights Twitter states, "Gotham has thrown down a new gauntlet. Heroic Assault, the free 4-player co-op experience, is coming," and it will release on November 29, 2022. We don't have many details on the post-launch expansion, but it will expand Gotham Knight's multiplayer from the co-op in the story to a 4-player arena experience.
Gotham Knight's Heroic Assault will be a co-op arena mode in which players work together across 30 floors. Different environments and objectives will offer versatility to the gameplay and keep things fresh.
Heroic Assault is labeled as a standalone, but whether you need to own Gotham Knights is unclear, as the wording on the Gotham Knights' FAQ page is confusing. It is listed as a standalone mode and a free update for all Gotham Knight owners. We will likely receive more information closer to its launch date.
