How to complete The Plight of the House-Elf Quest in Hogwarts Legacy

Players will have the option to complete plenty of side quests to earn worthwhile loot and rewards in Hogwarts Legacy. Your handy companion Deek in the Room of Requirement has a request that is not for the faint of heart, and here's how to delve into the Spinners Cave in Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy - Spinners Cave Walkthrough Guide

To begin the quest, you'll want to speak to Deek in the Room of Requirement. This will be available shortly after opening the Vivarium. Deek will ask you to check up on his friend Tobbs in a cavern north of Hogwarts: Spinners Cave. To get there, you can take the Floo to Upper Hogsfield and fly your broom off toward the west till you reach the cave on the outskirts of the forest.

Once you get there, you'll notice right away that this will be a spider-infested cave, so be on your guard and have some fire spells at the ready. You'll need to burn the spider webs at the entrance to enter.

Shortly after you wander inside, you'll come to a gap in the walkway. You'll need to press A/X to jump across and continue forward on the other side. You'll need to fight some spiders as you continue through here, but nothing that you haven't already fought at Jackdaw's Rest.

Then you'll come to a slight fork. On the left is a slight opening, but you can't fit through. Here, you'll see a giant-sized spider crawl past the opening, hinting at a boss fight later on. You can grab the Galleons pouch at your feet and then head toward the right branching path to progress further into the cave.

You'll enter into a larger opening of the cavern, where your character will come to the realization that Tobbs hasn't seemed to be here for quite some time. To the left, you'll notice some spider eggs on the wall. The best way to avoid these eggs opening and releasing all the hatchlings is to destroy them before they hatch. This will help avoid a fight with a dozen little baby spiders. Continue to the right by breaking through some more webs.

Follow the path of the cavern, ensuring you break all the spider eggs you see along the way. You'll come to another gap in the road. You'll need to jump over this gap as well by pressing A/X. Don't worry if you happen to fall, this will lead to the location you've already been to, and you'll only need to circle back around. Once across the gap, you can find an opening leading to a bag on your left side and then begin crawling through a lower passageway. You'll eventually reach a hill that will make your character slide down to the bottom.

Here, you will find another of Tobbs' little campsites where you can collect a note suggesting Tobbs has wandered even deeper into the cave. Continue around and to the left by breaking through some webs. This will lead to another smaller passageway your character will climb through until you reach a taller wall. Hold A/X to climb up. Once you climb up, enter a larger opening once again, where you will find the main boss fight of the cave.

How to defeat Acromantula in Hogwarts Legacy

The Acromantula is a level 28 boss, so depending on your level, this may be more difficult. Other spiders will also spawn around the area as well, meaning you'll have the challenge of multiple enemies. You'll want to make sure you have your spells properly sorted. Fire spells do more damage to them. If you have Incendio upgraded, you'll definitely want to utilize that to keep the smaller spiders at bay.

The key to defeating the Acromantula is to avoid its lunging attacks by dodging as much as possible. It will stomp its legs, signaling when it is about to make a charge. This will warn you to begin dodging when the red flash appears on your screen. These lunges consist of three consecutive attacks, so keep dodging three times as it approaches you.

Once the spider is defeated, climb up the wall to the left with the lantern and break the webs to continue forward. You'll reach another gap that you must jump over by using A/X. When you cross, you will come to a barricade. You can break through this by using any explosive-like spells such as Confringo or Bombarda.

Here is where you'll find Tobbs. Collect the note in front of him to discover what has happened to him, and you'll need to make your way out of the cave to return to Deek. When you come to the bottom with a shipwreck of sorts, you can break through the barricade to your left and then swim over to grab some extra loot pouches and leeches.

Follow the path to the right down and around the shipwreck till you reach a room with a chest. You'll need to break another barricade to reach a shortcut to the entrance once more. Jump down and continue forward till you reach the exit. You can finish the quest by returning to the Room of Requirement and speaking to Deek.

How to get all the chests in Spinners Cave in Hogwarts Legacy

Now that we've given a complete walkthrough on how to complete the cave successfully, here is how you can find all the chests on your way through:

Spinners Cave First Gap Chest Location

At the first gap in your path, you reach toward the beginning of the cave, and you'll notice a chest at the bottom right. You can climb down the rocks directly to your right and collect the loot. Then climb back up and make the jump across. Once you jump across, veer to the left and break the cobwebs to get through. Climb underneath the pass and collect another chest.

Continue forward using the steps above until you come to the larger room, where you first see the spider eggs. Directly behind the spider eggs, you'll see a chest. Break the eggs before they hatch to avoid fighting the hatchlings. As you continue forward by breaking through the webs, keep an eye on the right side. Breakthrough more webs to find a bag you can loot.

Spinners Cave Acromantula Lair Chest Location

Once you come to the Acromantula's lair and defeat it, you can find another chest off to the right side. There are two different ways you can reach it. You can simply climb up the wall and climb through the passage, or you can choose the lower path by breaking through the barricade and then climbing up the hill.

Spinners Cave Third Gap Chest Location

You'll come to a third gap in the path. This will look a lot like the first gap, and you'll see a chest at the bottom right. You can turn to your left and climb down the rocks to reach the bottom. Then, swim across some water to reach the chest. The last chest will be past the Shipwreck right before you return to the entrance through the shortcut.

Spinners Cave lacks tricky puzzles that other caves and rests can have, but the Acromantula makes up for it. It isn't an easy battle, so ensure you use your dodge and fire spells to your advantage. And perhaps stock up on Wiggenwald potions as well.
