There are a total of six summons sewn into Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMix, all of which can be used in the heat of battle as a way to turn the tide against the enemy. Obtaining them, although involving a little extra legwork outside of the main story, can be a major plus for your arsenal in the long run.

Before sealing the final keyhole and moving on to The End of the World, you can just about mop up all remaining summons from the already-completed worlds. The question is, which of the six summons are the most effective, and how can they be unlocked before going toe-to-toe with Ansem?
All Summons
Dumbo
- How to unlock: To unlock Dumbo, you must first give the Watergleam gem to the Fairy Godmother in Traverse Town. Watergleam, although slightly rare, can be found in the Monstro world, usually around the mouth area near the save point.
- Abilities: After summoning Dumbo, Sora will hop on his back and have the power to splash enemies without taking any damage. A useful way of attacking ground enemies, but nothing particularly special.
Bambi
- How to unlock: Similar to Dumbo, you can unlock Bambi by handing over the Naturespark to the Fairy Godmother in Traverse Town. Typically, you can find Naturespark by completing Pooh's Hunny Hunt in 100 Acre Wood.
- Abilities: Summoning Bambi doesn't have any offensive perks. However, he does prance around and produces bubbles of MP for a short while before disappearing. In tough encounters, Bambi probably won't be the greatest asset to the team.
Simba
- How to unlock: Again, like Dumbo and Bambi, Simba can be unlocked by heading over to the Fairy Godmother in Traverse Town. In order to acquire the summon, Earthshine, which is given to you by Leon in the Secret Waterway, will be needed for the exchange.
- Abilities: Simba is an ideal asset in battle for defeating a higher number of Heartless. Simba is an ideal asset in battle for defeating a higher number of Heartless. Using a charged roar can knock down multiple enemies in one fell swoop.

Mushu
- How to unlock: Once again, return to the Fairy Godmother in Traverse Town with the Fireglow resource. Fireglow, being an unmissable key item, is obtained after defeating Dragon Maleficent in Hollow Bastion.
- Abilities: Mushu tends to work well with flying enemies. Using a volley of fire, you can slay large quantities of Heartless with rapid-fire.
Tinkerbell
- How to unlock: Conveniently, Tinkerbell is unlocked after sealing the keyhole in Neverland, meaning there is no additional legwork to undertake outside of the main story.
- Abilities: Tinkerbell is a perfect choice for boss battles. Although she doesn't provide any covering fire, she does spawn HP for you and even brings you back to life if your health bar hits zero. Tinkerbell can be your saving grace in certain sticky situations, depending on the difficulty you choose prior to starting the game.
Genie
- How to unlock: Again, not much legwork is required in order to unlock Genie. Simply seal the keyhole in Agrabah to obtain the summon.
- Abilities: Genie is best used for battling large groups of Heartless. Genie uses various magic spells to counter enemies by tapping Showtime in your command list. Next to Tinkerbell, Genie is a go-to summon for your trio.
