The Meta Quest 3 has a massive library of plenty of well-made virtual reality games for you to check out. While most of them cost money, some of the great ones are still free.

Gorilla Tag

Gorilla Tag allows for incredibly fun gameplay as you are able to jump around, hang off of trees, chase other players, or get chased by them. The game takes full advantage of the VR experience with the Meta Quest 3 since the physics are quite immersive. You simply need to squeeze with your hands to climb and hold onto things. You can also download plenty of mods for the game, allowing you to make several aesthetic changes to it.

Gun Raiders

If shooter games are more your thing, then you will have no trouble finding a free shooting title on the Meta Quest 3. Gun Raiders is a competitive-style game where you fly around while jet-packing through the map and try to take on others in order to win. The game also has a full battle pass, which costs some money, as well as a few other microtransactions, such as cosmetic purchases for your character.

Rec Room

The Meta Quest 3 has a lot of virtual-reality chat rooms where you can sit in the metaverse and converse with fellow players. Rec Room is one of those, and probably one of the most popular ones of its kind. In the Rec Room, you can not only spend time talking to people all day, but you can also play various fun games with them.

If we talk about shooters, battle royale has been a popular topic for the past few years. However, now you can play a first-person shooter game, with the primary game mode being a battle royale title. There is everything you would expect from such a game. Weapons, weapon skins, socializing, and a lot more to it, with certain cosmetic things sometimes costing real money.

Hyper Dash

Hyper Dash is yet another free-to-play virtual reality shooter game for the Meta Quest 3. If you aren't a fan of how competitive other first-person shooters are, don't worry because Hyper Dash has got you covered. The main thing going for this game is that it's focused on multiplayer action. Go around an arena and defeat enemies with a friend or two or even a whole squad if you want to!

Bait!

First-person shooters and other game modes aside, if you're a fan of having a relaxing time by yourself or even with a couple of friends, I highly recommend you to check out this game. Bait! is a virtual reality fishing game, as you take your best fishing gear to catch some big fish. You'll get to experience the laid-back yet complex fishing mechanics of the game in plenty of small mini-games in which you can compete with your friends.

PokeStars VR

Do you like playing poker? You can do that in virtual reality with PokerStars VR, as it offers a high-quality experience of poker with Texas Hold'em and other card games. The game is free-to-play, and only virtual in-game currency is spent while gambling in PokerStars VR, so you won't have to spend any real-life money unless you run out of in-game money to keep your game going. Then, you can choose to buy in-game currency with real money, just like any other game with microtransactions.

Ultimechs

Ultimechs is a game involving a mech of your own, which you can use to play various games, such as using your mech to punch balls into goals, much like Rocket League but without the cars. You can play Ultimechs with friends competitively, playing one-on-one or even in duos, so you can unlock some sick loot as you win games. It's quite a well-made game, and if you like it, you can get one of its battle passes to unlock more cosmetic gear for yourself.

Pavlov Shack

Pavlov Shack is not only the most competitive first-person shooter you'll play on the Meta Quest 3 but also the best one, in my opinion. The game gives you a vanilla-like FPS experience reminiscent of Counter-Strike. You can play several other game modes, such as co-op or death match, to sharpen up your skills. Since the game is in beta, it's still free for you to play.

Roblox

The chances you have not heard of Roblox are quite low since it is one of the most-played games by players of all ages on all the platforms it's available. As a matter of fact, there are about 22 million people who play Roblox on any given day. Roblox isn't a standalone game, though. Roblox is hundreds, if not thousands, of smaller games under one giant umbrella. Each game is unique to its kind, giving you gameplay of role-playing, adventure, survival, and much more. If you're a Roblox fan, then this is the only game you might need to get on the Meta Quest 3.

Meta is an ever-growing platform, with virtual reality gaming being called the future of gaming by some. With that being said, plenty of games surface in the Meta store every day, so I highly recommend you to check them out occasionally, as you'll find plenty of free titles for you to try out.
