Games can feel a little empty when you’ve finished the main story. But this couldn’t be any more untrue for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. In this article, we’ll talk about everything you can do after the credits roll in the game.
What to do in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet after finishing the game?
Join the Academy Ace Tournament
The Academy Ace Tournament is a post-epilogue story you can do immediately after the credit rolls. Since the immediate danger to Paldea is gone, Director Clavell suggests that the school host a tournament to celebrate you becoming a Champion. While Chairwoman Geeta prepares for the events, she asks you to test the battle strength of the region's gym leaders in her stead.
After you’ve beaten the story, you can join the Academy Ace Tournament at any time. Consider it Paldea’s Battle Frontier.
Enter six star Tera Raids
Six star Tera Raids are unlocked after you win the Academy Ace Tournament for the first time. Jacq will notify you of the appearance of black Tera Crystals throughout the region. These crystals are for six star Tera Raids. The Pokémon you fight is at level 90, which is infinitely more than the level 75 five-star Tera Raid Pokémon.
If you can’t find black Tera Crystals even after resetting your day, beat a couple of five star Raids. This is a pre-requisite to unlocking sir star Tera Raids. Online Tera Raids count in the number.
Try competitive battling
Whether it’s online or in the Academy Ace Tournament, you now have all the tools you need to grow the best Pokémon for battling. Once you speak to Nurse Joy post-game, she’ll add the Judge function to your Box. Judge lets you know how strong your Pokémon is genetically. Having Pokémon with the perfect genes is the minimum requirement to stand a change in the competitive scene.

Finish all classes & grow close with the staff
The classes that you take in the Academy aren’t just for tutorial purposes. You get EXP. Candies when you finish them, plus the opportunity to bond with the teachers that head your classes. Once you max out your friendships with your instructors (plus the school nurse), you'll receive cool rewards like a regional Meowth, Tera Shards, and even an important quest to your Pokédex’s completion. We’ll talk more about that last one below.
Find the Ruinous Quartet
If you’ve finished all your classes in History and have been keeping up with Raifort’s story, then you’ll unlock a quest to find the so-called “Treasures of Ruin.” They’re hidden behind four gates within Paldea. Raifort will mark them on your map. However, you first need to find eight stakes (32 all in all) for each gate to unlock them. If you hadn’t had the opportunity to explore all the areas in Paldea, this quest will encourage you to.
Capture the Titan Pokémon
You technically don’t need to wait until the end of the game to do this, but Pokémon Scarlet & Violet lets you hunt the Titan Pokémon you defeated in the Path of Legends storyline. Since they don’t have Herba Mystica to feed on anymore, they won’t be huge. Still, you can find tiny versions of these Titan Pokémon roaming near the area you battled them in. There’s only one of them, so don’t let them faint!
Titan Pokémon are not required to complete the Pokédex. They’re just mutated versions of Pokémon that already exist in the game (like Dondozo and Orthworm).
Complete the Pokédex
Paldea’s Pokédex has exactly 400 Pokémon. Once you’ve captured all of them, you’ll get a neat certificate, an exclusive Pokéball, and a valuable item called a Shiny Charm, which increases the sighting of Shiny Pokémon in the wild. Pokémon Scarlet & Violet have exclusives, so you’ll need to trade with people who have the opposite game.
Complete the Shiny Pokédex
Once you’ve completed your Pokédex, you can take it a step further and work on your Shiny Pokédex. This is the most arduous task in any Pokémon game. It involves capturing or hatching all 400 Shiny Pokémon, or Pokémon born with a different set of colors, in the Paldea Pokédex. Shiny Pokémon only have a one in 4,000 chance to appear, though the rate is significantly better with a Shiny Charm and the right sandwiches.

Make every sandwich recipe in Paldea
Trainers can make sandwiches during picnics and share them with their Pokémon. You get boosts depending on the ingredients you used, from better encounters to faster egg hatches. There are also 121 sandwich recipes to discover in the region! Nobody will teach you how to make most of them, so it’s mostly a trial-and-error process. You can buy most of the ingredients you need in Porto Marinada.
Defeat all the trainers in Paldea
What better way to prove that you’re a champion more worthy than Geela than by pulling a Nemona and challenging everyone to a battle? Plus, each area on the map will have a Pokémon League representative in them who grants rewards if you beat most trainers nearby. The rewards are usually very expensive items in stores, items that will never appear in stores (like the Amulet Coin), and TMs you’ll never get the recipes for in Starfall Street. If not all trainers, then it’s at least worth defeating enough of them to receive the prize in each area.
Enter special Tera Raid events
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s developers will put out limited-time events for the game until generation 10 is released. These will usually be Tera Raids. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online Membership, you can join them. For example, upon release, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet had an Eevee event, where certain Tera Crystals spawned an Eevee.
