Where to get Ability Patch in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

To get an Ability Patch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you must complete 6 Star Tera Raids or the Ace Academy Tournament. This item is a rare reward from both of these, so you are not guaranteed to get one. However, we recommend completing6 Star Tera Raids or higher as you have a better chance to receive one and gain other rewards that make this activity worth it.

What does Ability Patch do in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The Ability Patch is a special item that many competitive players will need. This item will unlock a Pokémon's hidden ability and is the only way to get these initially. This is different than the Ability Capsule, which will simply switch a Pokémon's ability.

Ability Capsules cannot unlock hidden abilities, so you will need an Ability Patch. As higher-level Tera Raids are the best way to get Ability Patches in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you will want to ensure you have the right Pokémon and play with friends to make it easier.
