Chapter 20: No Turning Back Battle Guide – Triangle Strategy

Totally doable with the right people.

So, you’ve managed to brave through Chapter 18’s triple-battle crusade. Congrats! Now it’s time for you to race into Hyzante and defeat the Hierophant once and for all. However, a loyal subject stands in your way: Minister Lyla of the Saintly Seven. With her dastardly status effects (Doom, Slow, and Stop) and her subjects’ crazy-high attack power, the battle will be difficult…unless you know who to bring.

For this battle you want:

The remaining seven slots are fair game. But if you need a suggestion, Benedict (with Twofold Turn) and Frederica (with Scorch) together are unstoppable. You can also bring Medina for Fast-acting Medication and double heals.

If you have him, you can also bring Quahaug (for story-related purposes). His Warped Space and Turn Back Time skills are also very useful in a pinch!

How to defeat Lyla

Lyla is harmless if you have Geela. All of her moves either have delayed effects or are status-inflicting skills, which can be nullified with Heal What Ails You (except for Stop—you'll need to throw a pellet for that). Medina can also throw Cure-All Pellets as backup. These can be bought from Lionel at the Encampment. Then, just defeat her with a bunch of follow-up attacks.

The real problem in this battle is everyone else on the map. They are either archers with long range, shieldbearers, or warriors who can counter attacks. First off, leave the archers alone until the very end. As long as you stay out of their attack range, you’ll be safe. Then, have a mage like Frederica deal with the shieldbearers.

Finally, throw Milo at the warriors. Her Heart Stealer and Stardust (at Elite) skills have high chances of landing Tempt. Tempt lets you turn an enemy into a temporary ally. They will attack other enemies, and other enemies will attack them, in return. Since these warriors all have physical attack counters, it’s truly a sight to behold. Julio can provide her with a steady stream of TPs, though he can also be used to support Frederica.

If Tempt doesn’t land for some odd reason, you can open your menu, go to System, go to Load, and reload your Quicksave Data. You can’t spam it repeatedly since the Quicksave Data disappears when reloaded, but it’s a nice failsafe.
