The popularity of Slime Rancher is well deserved and has an adoring fanbase that is always hungry for more content. While their wish for a sequel panned out, the original game has a number of mods that have prolonged the game's life. Between balance changes, new textures, and even new slimes, these are the best Slime Rancher mods.

Colorful Slimes

Created by veesus mikel heir, the Colorful Slime mod gives all unique slimes a brand new color. The mod has had issues in desaturation due to an update in 2020, however, it still works well with customizable colors. The creator also made the module in which all mods are created in the game, the SRML or Slime Rancher Mod Loader as well as additional mods for the game.

Extra Vac Slots

What could be better than a mod that improves the quality of life for the game? The Extra Vac Slots increases the number of slots the Vac Gun has and is fully customizable for players that don't want to go overboard with how much it breaks the game. Created by Aidanamite, the mod allows players to use a command to adjust the number of slots they have. The default amount is three extra slots and is already a huge improvement for players that like to gather as many materials or slimes as they can.

Shiny Slimes

Inspired by Pokémon, the Shiny Slimes mod adds a feature where rare variants of slimes can appear. This was created by the ShinySlimeDevelopment team that consists of modders in the community that wanted to make these slimes have a one in 2000 chance of being shiny. They also made special variants of slimes for events that surround several other members of the Slime Rancher modding community. When playing near these members' birthdays, special event slimes will have a chance of appearing, each with their own unique skin.

Slime Collection

The Ruby, Unstable, and Ruins slimes are added to this mod, created by Blackomodo. Named Slime Collection 1, the mod adds more slimes with unique features, textures, UI icons, and interactions into the world. The Ruby and Unstable slime require careful attention, while the Ruins slime will give the player science resources instead of Plorts. More slimes are always good in Slime Rancher.

Singularity Slimes

The Black Hole and White Hole slimes work in unison with one another in this mod by veesus mikel heir. The Singularity Slimes adds two slimes to the game that do the opposite of one another. When creating a Black Hole slime, a White Hole slime is created. Feeding the Black Hole slime results in the food being sucked up and send to the White Hole where it comes out as a Singularity Plort. Even the player is affected by the slimes, being sucked towards one and blown away by the other.
