Sons of the Forest has two primary ways of harvesting clean water. The first method includes obtaining a Turtle Shell to make a Rain Collector. This collector can be placed at the base, allowing you to harvest rainwater passively. However, this method depends on rain, so you might not get lucky every time.

The other method includes acquiring a Cooking Pot that allows you to boil water to purify it. This is by far the most effective way to obtain drinking water in the game. Essentially, you must craft a campfire and place the Cooking Pot on top to boil water. Once that's done, you can directly drink the purified water from the pot.
