Spider-Man has new villains.

Venom will be heavily featured in Spider-Man 2

As if the ending of both Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales wasn't enough of a tell, Venom will be a protagonist in Spider-Man 2. The gameplay trailer showed off at the Sony showcase showed Peter wearing the Symbiote suit, the suit that would eventually become Venom in the comic books.

As for who the Venom host is, Spider-Man 2's game director Bryan Intihar is remaining tight-lipped. He did confirm it's not going to be Eddie Brock. Then again, the after-credits scene from the first game would seemingly indicate it's going to be Harry Osborn.

Spidey will be going against several other iconic villains from his rogues' gallery. On top of Venom, Insomniac says we'll be going against Kraven the Hunter and Lizard as well. This will all take place in a world about two times the size of the original, as it encompasses Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Will there be more suits in Spider-Man 2?

With the Symbiote suit playing such a big role in the trailers, some fans might've wondered if there were going to be ways to change suits in Spider-Man 2. It looks like that's indeed the case, and Sony gave us an early look at many of the upcoming suits.

There will be two Early Unlock suits, the Arachknight Suit for Peter and Shadow-Spider suit for Miles, for those who pre-ordered. They have additional color variants, so players will be able to choose one to their liking if the typical color scheme isn't their favorite.
