How to unlock Masteries in Stardew Valley

You can't upgrade your house only in Stardew Valley, but you can upgrade your skills as well. You can unlock Masteries by reaching the maximum level (10) in at least one available skill. The skills you can level are Combat, Mining, Fishing, Foraging, and Farming. Once you reach level 10, you can take the Mastery points by accessing the secret door in Cindersap Forest underneath Leah’s Cottage.

Cindersnap Forest is situated on the southernmost island on the map, below Leah's Cottage. Inside the Cindersnap Forest, you'll see a hill with a door carved into it. You can see this door anytime, but you won't be able to gain Mastery points until you reach level 10 in at least one skill. Even then, you can't redeem Mastery points until you level out all five Skills.

How to gain Mastery in Stardew Valley

You can gain Mastery by raking up experience for Skills you have already reached the max level. The experience points you earned that way will go into a Mastery bar, and once you fill the Mastery bar, you'll earn a Mastery point. You can spend that Mastery point at the secret door at Cindersnap Forest. The good thing is you can earn Mastery points even if you didn't reach max level in all five skills, but you can only redeem it after you upgrade all five skills to the end.
