What are Vendettas and Friends for Life in Weird West, explained

Every choice in Weird West has consequences, and some interactions with NPCs will cause them to build a relationship with you. Depending on your interactions, an NPC can become a Friend for Life or start a Vendetta against you.

Friends for Life

Throughout your journey in Weird West, you will come across NPCs who may need help. Whether they have been taken captive or need some supplies, helping them may result in them being a Friend for Life. In Weird West, a Friend for Life will appear when you are in danger and either attack your enemies or heal you to prevent you from dying.

Friends for Life are very helpful and can get you out of danger in bad spots. If a Friend for Life comes to your aid, you can kill them, so try to keep them alive. Friends for Life will come to your aid when you are very hurt, but this will not always happen. It does not seem like there is a limit to how many Friends for Life you can have, but only one will come to your aid at a time.

Vendettas

Vendettas occur in a number of ways by making a lifetime enemy. An NPC will have a vendetta against you if you have a bad enough interaction with them. You can do this by killing their family, killing their gang members, or letting bounties get away.

If a character has a vendetta against you, they can pop up in the middle of combat in a hostile area to attack you. The character will be able to ambush you anytime until the vendetta is finished, and the only way to end a vendetta is to kill them.
