When you're hunting enormous kemono, it's never a bad idea to bring backup. In Wild Hearts, you can summon up to two friends to join you on missions through an online co-op feature. However, you cannot initiate co-op wherever you wish, as you must be at a specified location before joining a multiplayer match. Here's how to play online co-op with friends in Wild Hearts.
How to unlock multiplayer in Wild Hearts
In order to unlock multiplayer, you must complete the tutorial segment and create your first campfire. Once you have discovered the nearby Dragon Pit, enter your Karakuri stance and open the full Karakuri menu. Select the Campfire option, then place it on the ground. Now, you can interact with the campfire and choose Play Online. This reveals the co-op menu, where you can decide whether to search for a multiplayer session or create your own session.

If your friends are having trouble finding your session, type in a Party Tag while creating a session. Then, your friends can type this Party Tag in the Search Sessions menu, which only reveals co-op teams with that tag. If you'd rather, you can also change the Search Target to Friends Only, which will drastically narrow down the players who can discover your party. To increase your co-op session's security, you can also implement a password that prevents random players from joining your lobby. Once your friends discover your multiplayer session, they must input the password in order to join.
