WoW Love is in the Air 2023 Guide

Love is in the air in World of Warcraft.

The annual Love is in the Air event has come back to World of Warcraft and over the duration of it, players will be able to unlock some new cosmetics. Players who have participated in the event before may have all the rewards, but players who weren't as lucky in the past have a fresh chance to get the event-exclusive items.

How long is the Love is in the Air event in World of Warcraft?

The Love in the Air event begins February 6 and will run until February 20. During this time, players will be able to explore a Valentine's Day-themed Stormwind City and Orgrimmar, depending on whether the player is Alliance or Horde.

Throughout the event, players will have the chance to earn event-exclusive items, whether it's mounts, pets, or even colognes that buff the player for a short amount of time. Many players will be interested in acquiring the mounts, and two are up for grabs.

All rewards available in the WoW Love is in the Air event

The two mounts players can unlock through the Love in the Air event are the X-45 Heartbreaker and the Swift Lovebird. The latter is easier to obtain as it costs 270 Love Tokens, while the former is a random drop from completing the event-specific Shadowfang Keep dungeon, called the Crown Chemical Co. in the Dungeon Finder.

Blizzard buffed the drop rate for the Heartbreaker this year, but it doesn't guarantee players who want the rare mount will be able to get it. Other than the mounts, there are three pets that can be purchased, which are the Toxic Wasteling, Truesilver Shafted Arrow, and the Lovebird Hatchling.

How to get Love Tokens in World of Warcraft

The currency for the Love in the Air event is Love Tokens, which are earned by completing the daily quests offered over the event. There are a variety of different tasks to complete, and while each of them rewards just a handful of tokens each day, those do add up.

  • Crushing the Crown questline: Alliance players go to Inspector Snip Snaggleboat in Stormwind, while Horde players talk to Detective Snap Snagglebolt in Orgrimmar for this quest. It rewards five tokens upon completion.
  • Daily Quests: Talk to Kwee Q. Peddlefeet outside of Stormwind or Orgrimmar's auction house to pick up the daily quests. This gives the player four quests to complete that will result in 20 tokens each day.
  • Heart-Shaped Box: This item can be obtained by queuing up for the event-specific Shadowfang Keep dungeon and defeating Apothecary Hummel. It drops once a day per character, and it contains the chance to earn the rare X-45 Heartbreaker mount.

The Love Tokens are spent at the Lovely Merchant in the player's capital city, whether that's Orgrimmar or Stormwind. This is where the player can buy the mounts and various other event items.

Any Love Tokens a player amasses throughout the event will disappear on its conclusion, so there's no reason to hang onto anything. Players that think they can keep a stockpile of them to make obtaining 270 tokens easier next year will not have that as an option.
