Swords and Sowing: A Relaxing Side Story in Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Ready to dive into a new life?

The Yakuza series has taken to the world by storm since being reintroduced in the west with Yakuza 0 on the PlayStation 4. As of Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the Yakuza series has shifted to its original Japanese name, Like a Dragon. With this change comes a wave of more installments to the series, including the remake of the previously Japanese exclusive Like a Dragon: Ishin! The game puts you in the shoes of Sakamoto Ryoma during the late Edo period, a huge shift from modern-day Kamurocho.

What can you expect from side stories in Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Regardless of what name these games are given, one of the best things about any Yakuza installment is the number of side stories you can entangle yourself in. The latest trailer shows off a couple of these many side stories. One of these side stories has Ryoma partaking in a mini-game that takes him through the task of cooking a meal, from harvesting the crops to cutting the vegetables and flipping the meat.

You'll also be able to take care of pets and nurture them back to health using the food you've made in true Yakuza fashion. What sort of game would this be if the protagonist didn't have some sort of soft spot for animals? Hopefully, Ryoma can keep a pet of his own to take cf and train!
